It's been over a year since my last post on this card and I still haven't figured out how to make this card super hot. Can any of you cube gurus give me some tips? What do the decks look like? I understand that it works with strip mine and wildfire, but I never really found life from the loam necessary in the wildfire decks. I really want to like this card because it's one of my favorites, but I haven't been able to really make it shine. I would be super thankful if anyone could provide a successful list as well!
I like them in the order you listed as well. Izzet charm is super hot in reanimator decks. It enables the combo if drawn early and protects the combo if drawn later. The flexibility in countering a walker or powerful spell and shocking a creature makes the card superior to the others. I don't have a very strong opinion about Fire//Ice and Electrolyz. I could go either way between them, but I prefer Fire/Ice for the cheaper cost. Sometimes I just need to get rid of a Bob, Mom, or Rofellos quickly before they start generating value.
So apparently I've been misevaluating Wall of Omens. A lot of the players I play with tell me it's 360 material, but I've never been a fan. I need to find a cut for to try it again so how would you rank these 2 drops: Glory-Bound Initiate, Adanto Vanguard, Imposing Sovereign, Accorder Paladin
Which card do you guys prefer? Soltari Champion or Spear of Heliod? I imagine Champion would probably see more play in aggro decks given its easy 1 white casting cost.
Cut Aetherling. I agree with Viss on all his points. Aetherling is THE control finisher, but often, Gearhulk can close out games just as well as Aetherling. Gearhulk into Fact of Fiction, Dig through Time, Cryptic Command or Mystic Confluence is insane value. Honestly, even a timely counterspell and the body on Gearhulk can just do the job of the closing.
I like Scarab God more because of what wtwlf said, and also because Hostage Taker's effect is very similar to all the 187-creatures and Palace Jailer that are already very prevalent in cubes.
I wouldn't run it in 360, but I have to admit that it has played better than it looks as well. One of my favorite interactions is to use survival of the fittest to dig this up and counter something.
Can I get some feedback on this card now that it's 4 years from the last post? Many of the older posts have said something how paying 9 mana is far too much, but I see Tooth and Nail in many 450+ cubes. What happened and why the change of mind? Better targets like Eldrazis? Personally, I've never been a fan of this card because I'm not a fan of super ramp decks, but it's on the cusp of being removed for me at 450. I'm interested in hearing your takes on it. Does it play better in a powered environment?
I'd move Welder, Daretti 1.0 and Tezz into the tier-1 list of support cards for sure. All of those cards are nutty in the artifact.dec builds, and are core to their success, IMO. I'd add the new Karn to that list too; it's so damn good in that deck. Loadstone Golem could go here too.
I'd move Workshop down (way too much of what makes the artifact.dec work are non-artifact spells), and put Ruins and The Antiquities War into that tier with Thirst, Trash for Treasure and a few others.
Welder and U Tezz hven't pulled their weight in the unpowered cubes I've been playing. I suspect much of its mediocre performance has to do with the fact that the environments don't have moxen, lotus, or cards like vault/crypt/ring. Usually, U Tezz just tutored up a signet or some other rock. The artifact decks here tend to be big mana here with sweepers, so welder can get a bit awkward to deploy. Could you post a decklist so I can see the shell you use to abuse welder/U Tezz?

I'm thinking about running Spell Pierce over Force Spike. Yay, Nay, or Okay?
Fractured Identity
Geist
Dimir:
Baleful Strix
Scarab God/Hostage Taker (Both are great so you should see what you want/need)
Rakdos:
Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast
K-Command
Gruul:
BBE
Atarka
Selesnya:
Finks
Pridemage
Orzhov:
Vindicate
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad (Not sure why you don't want to play Lingering Souls)
Golgari:
Maelstrom Pulse
Pernicious Deed
Simic:
Edric
Nissa, Stewart of Elements
Izzet:
Dack
Keranos/Ral Zarek/Izzet Charm (I think Ral is the best card here, but I wouldn't bat an eye if you put in any of those)
Boros:
Figure of Destiny
Ajani Vengeant/Nahari
I rank Rofellos and Lotus Cobra higher than any of those, but I'm not sure how to rank those.

2. Nissa, Stewart of Elements.
Edric just runs away with games if left unchecked. The rest kinda blend together.

Can you guys rank these 2 CMC red drops? Abbot of Keral Keep, Plated Geopede, Keldon Marauders, Aether Chaser
