This info was given to me by Rancored_Elf formally of MTGNews. He has authorized me to leak it on his behalf, and it is from a source that has given him real info for past sets and has been correct every time.
Various sources, ranging from our own resident rumor-getter R_E, to Scrye magazine and more, have brought in quite a few new cards in the last two days. One of these cards is a new counterspell which appears to have very much been inspired by a staple counterspell, Force of Will:
Disrupting Shoal XUU
Instant—Arcane (Rare)
You may remove a blue card in your hand with converted mana cost X from the game rather than pay Disrupting Shoal's mana cost.
Counter target spell if its converted mana cost is X.
Also listed is a Blazing Shoal, leaving people to speculate the Shoals are one of what appears to be many cycles in Betrayers. Another card revealed of note, is a new creature with the Winter Orb ability on it:
Hokori, Dust Drinker - 2WW
Legendary Creature - Spirit (Rare)
Lands don't untap during their controller's untap steps.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player untaps a land he or she controls.

I have to say I applaud Scott for that. I just wish he would have chosen to do things in this fashion before MTGnews came crumbling down at his feet.

Boy do I feel dumb. I actually never knew what that key does, and I've been using computers for a looooooooong time.
Anyway here's the latest.
I got my account back at MTGnews! Cyan PMd me here this morning and told me he'd get it done. When I logged in, I checked my stuff. There was definite evidence that "someone" had been logging in as me (and we know that S_S admitted to the mod team at News that it was him). I can't go into details, but it's clear that he contacted or tried to contact and reply to my sources (even though I deleted all PMs before quitting, in case something like this were to happen). Many of my options had been changed. Of course, no posts had been made.
I probably won't need to post with the account, but at least it's not hijacked anymore and being used to try and get information from my sources, or impersonate me. You have little or no idea what it's like to know that somebody has locked you out of your account and is doing goodness-knows-what in there as if they're you. Very upsetting. Now that I have my account back, you can PM me on News, but I won't check there often, so why bother?
I also got an email from Raa, in which he said he was sorry for what happened and he hopes we can mend fences. I don't know what to think, after all this... but I suppose it's a nice gesture.

i agree with you(yes this post is from first page -__- im slow) that is alot like ID theft and they should have some kind of punishment for it that is like being arrested if not actually being arrested for it.
I don't think you're the anti-Christ, I just think you have absolutely no common sense, and you destroyed MTGnews as a result of that.
There is a difference between intentionally destroying the community and just being so ignorant as to not know what would happen if you censored all information relating to current events, but the result was the exact same.
I'd actually prefer to believe you were malevolent and trying to destroy the community because I simply cannot imagine possibly being ignorant enough not to know what you were doing would result in.

I mean, if you had read up and knew what was going on and made an educated assessment that I suck, that's cool. As much as I disagree with a lot of the yahoos on this site, at least they're listening to the information that's out there (no matter how horridly slanted it might be) and coming up with their own position.

problem is there is so many pages to read it would take me like....2 days to read it all just to get to the last page to be able to even post....so i kind of just read the last few posts then ppost....and go off of what i have observed
I never actually went to MTGnews or anything but from what everyone is saying, it seems like this S_S person really broke the site and is a pretty bad person, though that is only my opinion,i dont know the actual situation here.
Well i am new to this and its been a while since iactually played MTG but my best friend Chris Wolfe is getting me back into it and I think imay actually start buying cards agian and playing. He is the best freind ihave and he is a great MTG player as well, I know i will do very good when he is done teaching me everything. I hope to hear from other people and make friends, thats always a good thing.
