  • posted a message on End of the Magic Advisory Program
I had already cashed in what I had in the account ($22) a couple of months ago. Then I get this announcement about closing the program so I go to get the remaining balance in my account sent to me. It was $1. I've received the letter with the $1 check attached. The letter has the Magic logo on it so I will probably not detach the check and cash it. I will more than likely just save it for a keepsake. "Look! Magic paid ME money!"

Anyway, a week or more ago I receive an email from the DCI asking me to participate in a survey about magic so I check it out and it's pretty much the same type of questions that were in the "Advisory Panel" surveys. I guess they just decided not to pay people for the surveys anymore or offer a chance for prizes. They just want it for free now......

  • posted a message on [PC] So, is it Planeshifted or Timeshifted ??
Looking at the "Compiled Info" they are call either "Planeshifted" or "Timeshifted" depending on which part of the info you read.

On the spoiler list they are referred to as Timeshifted.

I think Planeshifted makes more sense because Planar Chaos is about the "present" and a shifting between parallel planes.

Time Spiral was about the past shifting though time.

I wonder what they will call it in Future Sight. Backshifted ??
Maybe they will also have their own color expansion symbol like the Time Spiral Timeshifted cards.....

something is not right here. Look at that foriegn image. look at the edges of the land. they are broken and have JPEG artifacts that other parts of the card (text, image, symbol) don't have. Also, the TS symbol is offset on the card. On the English one, isn't "instead" in the wrong spot? I am not saying these are fake, but that asian one is REALLY hard to believe which makes the english one less credible imo.

Just in case you can't find it, here is where the card is revealed on the WOTC site. Just go to that page and scroll to the bottom.

I play the drums in a local classic rock cover band. I've even done a couple of recording sessions.....

I think you should have them run across a magic cult or group that has hidden out in the mountains in order to preserve their magic and way of life. They would also be planning to form a resistance against the Inspired. Maybe the PC's will hear rumors of them in Adar while restocking supplies, or maybe while traveling, members of the magic group somehow capture them, or run into them and notices some of them use magic. They might become interested in enlisting the PC's to their cause. Or if the PC's don't have any magic users, the magic group members will seek to destroy them to prevent any from discovering their nearby secluded hideout.

I know I've bought at least 70, probably more. I still have 30-35 boxes put away.

The thing you have to watch out for with Bond Of Agony is that the life payment is part of the casting cost, so if it's countered, you are screwed out of the life.

  • posted a message on New T-Shirts finally at MTGnews
I know there are probably many here who don't care, but since I frequent both sites, I do.

    <snip>

We do not appreciate advertising like this... If you're really worried about those that frequent two sites, it'd have occurred to you that they'd see the announcement over there, and wouldn't need advertising here, to view the shirts.

    Thread closed.

Umm..... On the front page he says....
Nice! A 4/4 on turn two is nothing to scoff at!

    Also,

This can beat for 4 on second turn. First turn Forest, Genju of the Cedars; second turn land, activate Genju, swing.

Sure you can have the 4/4 on turn 2, but what good is it if it's tapped? You won't be able to either attack or block with it since the activated land will be tapped to pay for the activation.

  • posted a message on Staying or going?
I see no reason to abandon MTGnews. All the BS will settle down soon. Look at the fact that the heavy-handed S_S has now been replaced. I see MTGsalvation as another fine Magic forum that I will add to my list of Magic-Related sites that I frequent, not as a replacement for MTGnews.
