I would have to say my old Captain Sisay build was to fun. Before it was banned I was actually able to cast Emrakul turn 3-4 easily. My playgroup actually told me to get rid of him lol
The thing about playing control is it is easy to learn but hard to master in my opinion. I am a decent control player, its my nature. The number one thing to learn from control is patience, you need to sit and think every play through. The hardest thing to learn is to think every play out 1-2 turns ahead and have a plan for every card in your hand. Card advantage is the name of the game with control, you want to survive the brunt of the first part of the game and start to gain control through card advantage over time. Playing control is not a race like aggro, you can take your time. Hope this helps
The only gripe I have is that I passionatly believe It That Betrays NEEDS to be banned. It is way to broken by its self. We have put a store ban on it at my local store. Sol ring is a great card, it allows non green decks to keep up.
Sedris, he was my first edh general and he is amazing. play him turn 3 then turn 4 buried alive. (i think that the one that puts 3 creatures from deck to graveyard.) win shortly after that.
I went 50-6 w/l with Sisay so my vote heavily go to Sisay. Before the ban I could get Emrakul out around turn 4 with a god draw. I took the deck apart because it was way to competitive and made it no fun for anyone else.
Sun Titan is a great card but does it fit with this build? You have very few permanents that cost 3 or less. I know you can bring back Tectonic Edge but not much besides that. While returning Wall of Omens against an aggro build can be useful, it doesn't help your matchup with control. Maybe Koth of the Hammer or Inferno Titan would be a better choice.
Hope that helps.
I understand both Koth and Inferno Titan, I'll just switch the titans but what about Koth, what should I switch for him?
Sorry I'm doing this on my Blackberry so I can't set tags or anything.
The theory behind this deck is to destroy every creature your opponent has then play a bomb. Against aggro its amazing. Control is hell, its a hard match up. Chandra Ablaze is amazing when she resolves. Survival Cache is awesome it nets me 2 cards and 4 life most of the time. I would like to make this deck competitive so all critiques are needed.
I understand using combos like this against D-Bag players but in a normal game you would be hated out so fast it would make my head spin. So besides karmic guide what other guys can we abuse and recur with Revilark? Also back to the original Q, my deck is still in the testing stages. I am just mainly using RBW good stuff. I am going to play test the blasting station combo out. Any other combos good in these colors? Its a tough combination to do any combo with.
I'm also trying to make Oros competitive but I just can't the right mix. What would be good to get revelark going? Avalanche riders? Also does anyone have anymore ideas for good combos or great cards to use?
Voltaic key does little for your combo except allowing you to untap Lux Cannon or Tumble Magnet. You want to make it really tight and make sure if none of these cards are in play that the card can stand on its own.
I totally understand what your saying. The keys are also to untap hellkite to block against aggro. I am using the thrummingbird to power up the lux cannon and tumble magnets. Which is amazing to basically use cannon to destroy something every turn and tap down 1-3 creatures down with magnet a turn as well. That is all to stall so I can set up the lock. I am not putting down what your saying at all, I am just justifying the underlying strategy I am using to stall. But thanks for the input. Also, why is a lot of people getting behind lighthouse chronalogist and contagen engine? Its very easy to deal with and after spending X amount of mana to get both online and your chronalogist gets killed in response to leveling him up you would be at a disadvantage and tapped out.
I really like this concept, hows this list compare? I thought it would be good to abuse Lux Cannon to buy time along with Magnet then lock out with mindslaver. So any ideas to make this better?
