I can't sit here and pretend to understand how your deck plays @Dlanze. It's very unique for me to see. In my opinion though barter in blood may be too slow? 4 mana for 2 sac is good but at sorcery speed I think another damnation would suffice.
Since I've seen the card I've always loved rise // fall. Even have a few copies myself that I used to run mb so I do enjoy seeing you running it and having successfully considering it's still in your 75. All in all I think the deck looks oddly unique but very playable and winnable.

I played volcanic fallout last week and it did me no good. It missed everything I wanted it to hit. Anger of the gods is the better card to have. The 3 damage hits a lot more and the exile is nice to have. Fallout is only okay to run if you have no means of getting any other wrath but other than that, at least run anger of the gods.

My deck list last night was nothing too special but it's something i've been running for a bit and it's fairly fun.

My first Round was against Jund and I had everything going for me. Everything he tried to play i had an answer for. He kept dropping Scavenging Ooze but I had spell snares in hand to answer. He dropped bob and I bolt it. The real sweet moment was him dropping tarmogoyf and on my next turn I just hit him with a cruel and he scoops. I decided to not sideboard anything in for game 2 since I what I had main deck was working. Game 2 I actually still had answers for everything he was playing even though he hit me like at least 3 inquisition of kozilek and 2 thoughtsieze. He kept pulling Snaps from my hand but it was no biggy. I actually managed to drop Jace and plus him up to his ultimate where before I could use it he scoops again. I was ticking him down with my few spells and his shocks + thoughtsieze helped me out lol but all in all i was happy with the matchup.

Round 2 was against Jund again and first game I got absolutely hammered. I had nothing I needed and I believe I got stuck with about 4 lands. Rough. Game 2 I bring in pithing needle and I actually manage to see it! I draw it on turn 2 and drop it turn 3 before he gets a lilliana on the board and I was happy. The only reason I lost this matchup was because I made a bad mistake of being baited into swinging at a liliana he had on the board with my pithing needle still out. I can say that from there on out the game started to swing into his favor and I lost. If i did my damage to him with my tarpit instead of liliana I could have ended next turn but I threw it. Oh well. I went 0-2

Round 3 was against zoo and game 1 was going pretty well to start. I had counters for his cards and removal that I needed but I couldn't end quick enough. Game 2 I brought in volcanic fallout, even though it wasn't going to do much, didn't see it. We were both choked on mana with me being stuck at 4 and he had 2 but I just could not get any removal spells and I had spell snares in hand which didn't do me any good. He won fairly quickly. I again made a bad mistake of bouncing a creature back to his hand and drawing with cryptic command instead of tapping him down and drawing, maybe giving me an extra turn or 2 to stall but again, oh well. Better luck next time.

Round 4 my opponent was a no show so free win Smile

All in all i felt comfortable going against the jund decks because I know I had answers for whatever they wanted to put down, if I could just draw into them. There were quite a few jund decks being played, some infect were around, zoo and I think maybe 1 tron, 1 esper control and burn but I didn't see them all. I know my deck needs a bit of tweaking for next week, especially the mana base but I think it went well. Just some bad plays I need to not make going forward.

Hey guys. I went to my first modern tournament in a while and went 2-2. I won round 1 against jund sweeping him. Round 2 I lost to jund getting sweeped and round 3 also got swept but losing to zoo I think it was. Or junk. Will verify in the morning. Round 4 was a win because my opponent left and forgot to tell anyone so yay me! But I Will post my deck list and details that I remember in the morning. All in all I think it went well, couple bad plays on my part but the cards were there.

i see what you're saying. I think 1 of for me right now is okay. I wouldn't really run 2+ unless I'm against a mirror matchup. I may end up taking it out actually once I do get my 3rd cryptic.

My question is about overwhelming denial. And since I'm on my phone I can't really tag it all to well but pretty much would this not be a good one of, if not two of in main deck? I'm currently running one but I haven't seen it too much. I can post my deck list in a few but I'm curious why I haven't seen it too much. Is it just not as good as I thought it to be?

It's been awhile since I last posted but I always keep up with the thread due to my love for this deck. I'm not sure if it's been discussed already but I enjoy playing a more draw-go deck and I happened to get a card that seems to be just my type and could fit into this deck for the simple fact that it's cheap and resourceful. Expedite? I love the instant draw for 1 mana!

my question is this because I'm a bit puzzled, are we actually using Tasigur's ability? I figure if I have a deadhand and that's my only play then sure, last resort style, but do we like him more because he's a good body?

I still think guerrilla tactics could be a solid card in the new modern format since i'm expecting just a ton of liliana decks and that really is one of our biggest weaknesses in that matchup. If anyone else has tried that card out let me know how it went.

Perhaps it's a bit cute? I think a card like Dreadbore covers a lot more of the format. I won't disagree that Guerrilla Tactics is a Liliana blow-out.

I'm probably going to be cutting Cruel Ultimatum. It's great but it's a ton of mana for an effect that doesn't always win the game (it just usually wins the game). I'll post a list in the next day or two.

Without Cruel Ultimatum do you not just become a grixis control deck? Simply asking.

I run 3 serum visions and thinking of making it 4 but as for telling time I'm torn between it. As much as I love the card I feel its spot is better filled with another choice.

Now that DTT and TC are banned what other, if any, deep digs are we running?

I use to run 2-3 IoK in mainboard but took them out. Every time I saw them mid to late game I hoped they would be something else. But when I had them early I didn't mind but I just felt like they weren't greatly benefiting me other than to see my opponents hand at the least.

My only thought @supitsross is that I had the same thought about upping my serum visions count to 4 to fuel delve + draw.

I used to have izzet charm in my deck for the longest time and felt it was lacking for me. Never really helped me out much and the draw is just awful. You gain nothing from it so you either have counter a noncreature spell or deal 2 and if I'm going to deal 2 I'll run electrolyze for the draw.

On paper I'm actually relatively happy to see Monastery Siege. To me at least I feel it can bring the card draw I need and to help me filter cards out to pay for DTT and such.
However I did see Mogis, God of Slaughter a few posts up and wanted to know more about this card. This seems more favorable to me. I liked Keranos but felt he was just too expensive for the damage potential he net me. I feel Migos is the right cmc I feel I should be at least looking at for damage potential. That's just me but I would love to try him or get some insight on how he fairs.
