Well, you got Boros Knights and Feathers. But, there is more value in decks like Food, Sacrifice, and the like against the more controlling builds like Fires.
Updating since the last post was a while ago, Dreadhorde Arcanist is probably worth taking a look at, it’s a wizard and can replay spells from the graveyard. Heartfire is possibly another option, it turns late-game Viashino Pyromancers or other small creatures into additional damage. There may actually be some merit in running Samut’s Sprint in the deck, you can use it to send a land to the bottom of your deck and playing it on Dreadhorde Arcanist allows you to replay all of your three-drop spells like Light Up the Stage and Skewer the Critics.
^^^I don't think so. Not a viable strategy.
Try: Chandra, Fire Artisan is automatic. It's immediately a 5 damage for 4 Mana and only gets better from there....her ultimate should read..."Deal 7 damage, draw 7 cards."
Burning Prophet immediately takes my Viashino Pyromancer 's spot. This is the side-by-side partner of Runaway Steam-Kin you be get so much value.
I think I'm missing something, how is Chandra an immediate 5-damage play?
Because your opponent will want to answer it as soon as you play her.
Thoughts on Jared Day's list from last weekends Star City Games Invitational Qualifier.
What's interesting to me are the zero fetches to, I assume, helps preserve his life total. The major thing I noticed with this list was the cut of Goblin Guides down to 2 to make room for a single lavamancer and shard. Personally I don't think I'd cut guides but I do like the manabase and would properly do something like 4 sunbaked, 3 vantage.
Is there any comment on Andrew Shrout's list?
I found it interesting that he decided to drop the charms and fetches while running a single searing blaze for LUtS, volley, firebrand, and u/r canopies. His sideboard options are also pretty spicy!
what are some thoughts on the sideboard...too much gy hate? or is this correct with Bridgevine running amok
it was a good meta call for John Phillip Whetstone to run them.
Personally, it seems overboard to run 6 gy hate sources but it just might be necessary depending on your meta.
Although I preferred the 19 land approach to Burn, I am taking a liking the idea of 20 lands in Burn in complements to Sunbaked Canyon. I hope to snag my set of canyons soon.
In regards to phoenix decks I have had some success with running a couple faerie macabre. They never expect it especially after they pitched two birds to the grave.
Hey guys. I have a u/w aggro homebrew I'm trying to make semi competitive in arena.
Right now my record against combo, B/x control, and sultai midrange is stellar. But I am getting rofl-stomped by anything playing a lot of burn spells. Mainly mono red and drakes.
So I was wondering, what are some cards in White and Blue that make red players groan? CMC not being an issue.
I've got a few spell pierce, baffling end, settle the wreckage, and one lyra dawnbringer, but I haven't had any luck with them. Either I don't draw enough spell pierces to save my dudes or myself, or I die before I can draw/cast my higher end stuff, like lyra. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your replies!
Generally, anything with Lifegain is Reds worst match-up.
I noticed Grim Lavamancer is making a bit of a come back.
Saves me the money of having to shell out for a set. I can finally compete with my affinity deck without the worry of falling behind lol
Because your opponent will want to answer it as soon as you play her.
also raptor seems more of a Gruul card to me than a dedicated red card.
All in all very nice build

Also how good is risk factor with Narset around?
Thank you
I was just wondering why this hasn't been done before. thank you
it's a solid list. Have you considered bringing rekindle back into the main board?
something like -1 Firebrand, +1 Rekindle
I'm Interested to know how it goes. Keep us posted!
