Today is the day I buy my first-ever box of MTG. I'm picking up a box of NPH later this evening, and I can honestly say all I want from it is a Sword of War and Peace.
I mean, obviously I hope I get at least a playset of Beast Withins, and a crapload of Dismember/Despise would be nice, but besides Jin-Gitaxis the only card I actually *need* is the Sword of War and Peace.
Karn and Batterskull would be gravy, same with the Obliterator, but I really just want the Sword.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, and if there's anything you need, lemme know

Kayle is always going to be considered support. At best, she can be an initiator/harrasser, but she's by no means a carry. Trust me on that. I spent months, MONTHS playing nothing but her, building every possible Kayle that can be built...

All in all, if you want to think of yourself as an AP carry, you need:
Voidstaff + Will of the Ancients + Rabadons.
HOWEVER.
Don't think of yourself as a carry. If you wanna play a carry, do what I did and switch to a nuker. Now I kill people as Brand
I came in 5th out of 30 people at the NPH pre-release, using an esper control-ish deck with Norn as my bomb, saviour, and win-condition all in one, haha!
In my victory packs, I was lucky enough to get 3 of the other praetors and an Obliterator Guy beside me got a Karn, though >_<
Anyone got a Jin-Gitaxis (or any other foil praetors) They'll trade me?
In other news, my god was red powerful in sealed. I went 3-1-1, with the 1 loss going to a reb/white deck that ran Urabrask the hidden and the 2/1 infect boar with first strike and the 3/1 white first striker. It was nuuuuuts.
Also, I was pretty surprised at how often I won thanks to the ability to play life instead of mana for cards. Gitaxian Probe and Tezz's Gambit saved my butt on numerous occasions.
I love to see how far this thread has gotten, guys.
I'm REALLY sorry about not being as actively involved as I promised, but I'm still without a computer at the moment. When I do get one, which should be this weekend, I'll compile decklists, transformative sideboard options, and different color swaps.
Well, the reason I'm choosing between those two is that I have friends who can get me massive discounts, but only on one of those two models.
Also, as to the HP thing, I actually just made some connections with a repair center, so I'd be able to get any bugs, repairs or troubleshooting taken care of free ;D
And I too support Cockatrice. I just wish people would quit calling it 'cockatriss' around here =P Damn illiterates.
Alright guys, I can either get an HP dv6 or a macbook pro.
Any opinions on either? Because so far, I'm leaning towards the dv6.
Also, is anyone else jacked for the NPH prerelease?

EDIT: FURTHERMORE, if anyone pulls a foil legendary from the set, I will trade generously for them for mah legendary creature collection. Including the 7 from NPH, I only need to collect 60 more and I'll have one of each legendary creature in the game

So, I`m a HUGE fan of yardsales. Always have been, always will be. The nostalgic feel of something that was loved by someone else and ending up in your hands is just awesome.
Plus, y`know, bargains.
ANYWAYS, I bought a crate (like, litterally, a crate) of old MTG cards from some old dude last week for 50$, and haven`t even had time to go through it all yet, but so far, I`ve pulled the following:
1x Italian Karakas (traded)
1x Maze of Ith (the dark) (traded)
And, as of about half an hour ago, a very lightly worn Mox Pearl.
I. Am. Friggin`. PSYCHED.
I look at this badboy and see playsets of anything I want, haha!

That dude is wicked. I mean, he's basically an offensive lord when he's got metalcraft, which obviously most boros decks should have by turn 5.
