The whole thing about lovecraft-themes, Is the fear of the unknown.
Thematicly i think it would be cool to run Wrexial in the 99, as a hidden commander.
Lasav or another u/b elgend could be the known commander, to throw people off, while still staying with the theme.
I have this affinity for Elves and Dragons. But i don't make every deck around them.
What i've noticed though is, every deck i make, with creature, there some kind of token generation. I freaking love making tokens. The more the bether. If i can fill the board with little 1/1's and use it in some kind wierd way. Im a happy man
It looks lige we don't get a Plainswalkers Guide to New Phyrexia, with Urabrask. They skipped it today, and instead we got green (with an interresting lookbehind the scene of Glissa) with an ending saying "The story continues in The Quest for Karn", it is marketing stunt to sell the book ofcourse, and makes me think that they are hiding a big thing with urabrask (the hidden, tihi)
As i see it, there is no knew Father of Machines, A Planeswalker's Guide to New Phyrexia, Part 2. describes how all the Thanes each sees themselves as the new Father of Machines or as a candidate for the job. They are leaving the board open for an a struggle inside the phyrexian ranks. In magic, no story is ever finished
On topic, i actually see Venser as a fun twist to be The Father, but how i dunno?
I think we can rule out the idéa that it is The Legacy making him a planeswalker.
As mentioned, it is a mechanism. To be a walker, you must have a spark. The Legacy mechanism isn't a spark, it is an artificial thing created by hands.
Wizards usualy knows what they are doing, so i think they got a reasonable explanation.
Oversized Generals. am i the only one, who want to make a really cool 3d general and/or counter out of this? It might not get easy to get all the cards needed, but man it would be cool
A little side note, if there is some of the art that is lightning, magic-sparkle or anything like that. Use (if you got one) a foil version. It gives a great tuch of detail, and looks amazing, because its a big contrast to the rest of the art.
Maybe the different kinds of mana (the suns), confuses the phyrexians. They might have the same goal. But they don't have the same process. Also explains why we are seeing white phyrexians.
Well, i know i'm reaching a bit far. But the this is a bit different. We got two factions fighting, and to be honest i don't think any of the other plainswalkers are fighting for phyrexia, last time i checked they were not the best friends
The booster packs is shown in the Arcania site. The two Crusaders on each of their packs, to represent each faction
and one with Tezz on it. Wich still makes me believe that he is "Neutral", at least for now.

More chaos
But then again, the mirrans was a bit, meh, to begin with, and they still is, so i guess i'm still pro phyrexia
