Faust curses. His fears were right. The beast did this to him.
Seeing the man slink into death, Faust roughly shakes his shoulder, careful not to injure him.
    Don't die on me here.
He stands up, guarding over the man, looking for any signs of the beast while calling out for help, hoping that someone will come who can treat the young man.

Faust quickly rushes over to the injured man.

    Are you alright?

What kind of question is that? He's bleeding his guts out, of course he's not alright!

He wants to try and help the man but he doesn't know what to do. A white mage is more suited to this kind of thing.

Hang in there. Help is coming.

    I hope.

    What did this to you?

Faust snaps his head around in the direction of the gasp, running towards it. He has an aching suspicion in his gut that he knows what the problem is but he hopes that he's wrong...

    West...Go west...
Faust follows the direction of the scream, grogginess causing him to lose his way a couple of times but eventually he manages to find the right path.
    What's going on!?!

It takes a while for Faust to brush away the haze of sleep. He recalls a scream from a dream, but then realises the scream is real as he hears another. He gets up and grabs his satchel and Cross, rushing outside to try and determine what was happening.

    I think we're good.
Faust continues to sit at his table, observing the patrons of the bar and listening to local rumours, ordering another goblet of wine.
Once it starts to grow dark, he decides to book a room for the night and tuck in early, figuring he should get a good night's sleep before the hunt tomorrow.

    Faust nods.
This is probably the best place. I don't know my way around this town yet.

Sounds good. You're probably more experienced than me at this sort of thing.
He turns and calls to the barkeeper.
Do you provide beds as well as food?
    He turns back to Horace.
Where are we meeting at dawn?

    He simply says,
    Yes.

All tasks become easier with help. If we work together we might be able to catch it. All I ask for is the creature's head.

Faust reaches into the folds of his robe and lays Falin's satchel and the bandit's sword on the table.

    You assume right
    he says while doing this.
I'm a mage from Estark. I heard you've been having trouble with a beast around here, one that caused you to put up a bounty for someone to get rid of it.

Faust looks at the man next to him. A typical outdoorsman, in his prime, with muscles that looks like they're excercised regularly.
Not the kind of guy that even a mage would tangle with.

Heard you're the peacekeeper around here. I came across a bandit on the road. Got some things off him that I believe was stolen. Figured you might find a better use for them than me.

Faust nods, glad that the message got through eventually.
He waits in silence for Horace to finish his patrol, savouring his wine now that he had finished his bread.

Yeah, Faust isn't exactly the great with words.

Well then what would be the point in stealing it in the first place?
Faust shakes his head, wondering how this went wrong.
I'm trying to hand in items I 'acquired' from a bandit. Items I believe he stole.

Uh oh. I'm not liking where this is heading.

Faust tries to stay calm and collected.

Yes, found. I am trying to find someone in this town whom I can return the stolen items to and trust it's in good hands.
