Proxied the Monk up and seeded him into a cube draft this afternoon. I ended up playing against it, and it was a legitimate pain in my butt every time my opponent played it. He saw play in three games and was on the board for a total of 7 turns... and triggered 9 times. It is NOT hard for this guy to take over a game. Objectively it's probably not as good as Goblin Rabblemaster, but it was just as scary as a turn three threat when my opponent had 5 cards in hand. The fact that the tokens have prowess should not be underestimated. Definite include for me.

Side note, Sacred Fire Grandmaster was also in my opponents deck and was a grizzly bear with lifelink the only time he was played.

The triggering off anthems part is huge in my mind. He has synergies with so many different cards. Anthems, removal, planeswalkers, swords, mana rocks, ect ect ect. It would be easy to build a deck with 10+ cards that trigger his prowess/token ability. I am stoked for this guy and plan on testing him out. Colbycube, good call about the Soltari Champion cut, I think that is what it will be for me.

    This set is looking nice!

I'd put Fleshbag equal to Hyppie and Master of the Feast. Very versatile, abusable creature with solid stats.

I've loved him so far at 450. Great body, great ability, fits perfectly into an agro curve and is a great midrange threat. He's been snagged by a couple control players as well and while the ability isn't worth much in that archetype, Jazal is a great defender.

posted a message on Cubing with Two: A Guide to Two-Player Draft Formats
My cube partner and I used to play "Modified Winston" exclusively before we started Glimpse Drafting.

    How it works:
    1) Each player receives 2 fifteen card boosters, and opens them like a mini sealed pool.
    2) Winston draft as usual.

It seems like a small change but having 30 cards in your pool pre-Winston really changed how we drafted by giving each player a trajectory from the start. We found that the power level of our Mod Winston decks was much higher than when drafted vanilla Winston. It also stretched us as deckbuilders by pushing us in directions we wouldn't normally have tried. I don't know if this warrants a separate entry in your genealogy of drafting, but it worked quite well for us for hundreds of matches.

Just want to chime in and say to ColdyCube and wtwlf that glimpse drafting is INSANELY AWESOME and has totally changed the way my cube plays. The powerlevel of our decks has gone up significantly, but they aren't broken. Archetypes are also WAY easier to draft than they are in Winston. It seriously feels like I'm playing a new cube. It seems like there is also a great deal more freedom of choice during the draft. The other day I started drafting a blue deck, then got some reads off my opponent and started going heavy into green and red. I was able to assemble an insane RUG Fires/Hammer deck, but I could have just as easily gone UB reanimator if I was feeling it. I also managed to put together a Grixis reanimator deck, which is something I've been trying to do forever. That feeling of building a great cube deck with a unique strategy and no filler cards is something special. I think that it happen much more frequently now that we are glimpse drafting.

If I understand correctly, Colbycube, you came up with the idea, and wtwlf, you refined it. I thank you both.

So far the only new cards to see actual play for me are Song of the Dryads and Malicious Affliction. Song has performed as expected and been a solid removal option in green. It was played against me and I gotta say, sucks to have your Falkenrath Aristocrat turned into a forest haha.nMalicious Affliction has performed better than expected. KEEPER.

Venser, the Sojourner vs Momentary Blink? I have cubed Venser for a couple years now but he has spent more time riding the bench than I would like. I really like the blinkity blink U/W deck and am starting to wonder if Momentary Blink might actually be a better cube card for that archtype.

1- Borderland Marauder vs Gore-House Chainwalker vs War-Name Aspirant vs Ash Zealot ? What is the order of preference?

2 - Searing Blaze vs Forked Bolt vs Shrine of Burning Rage ? What is the order of preference? I can count Shrine of Burning Rage like a burn?

    3 - Monastery Swiftspear vs Chandra's Phoenix ?

I agree with Wildfire except that I'd put War-Name Aspirant right behind Borderland Marauder. The upside of being able to swing through tokens and walls has been more relevant than I thought it would be. She's an Elspeth killer! I also think Ash Zealot is objectively the most powerful card of the group. While the RR cost is somewhat prohibitive, if it is the only red 2 drop in your cube that is CC you will be fine. I like having a couple CC two drops available in each color, if the card is powerful enough, to reward people for going heavy in one color. It's going to be a long time before I cut the Zealot from my cube.
