MTG Salvation

Well, im definately happy to see these cards go. I think that they originally designed affinity to be a big player in the johnny department and possibly spike type players. However, someone noticed that there were ways to break it horribly and EVER GD TIMMY when and got a set and overperfected it into the dirt. Its just an infectious deck. Sure your going to have a lot of timmy's whining about raffinity, and alot of johnny's complaining about KCI getting killed in the process, and your going to have a lot of spikes complaining about Vial/Affinity getting axed. HOWEVER, the rest of the Magic Community is doing the dance of joy and liberation of a format locked down by 2 decks. Now that players don't have to worry about defeating the godlike speed of affinity, they can focus of defeating TAN while coming up with innovative decks. And on the other side of the arguement, TaN will be forced to evolve to fight off the new threats, but it will get help since it won't need to maindeck artifact hate. I think that this will spawn a lot of healthy competition. I think we have a chance to see a rebirth of LD, control, Monoblack, WW

This Card is a GB Rock BOMB. Turn 7 i had all but 2 land out of my deck and in play. Of course, by then i had actually won the game, but i wanted to see about how long it would take. Don't worry about the gay witness thing. 3 Sakura tribe Elders spells trouble for the opposition. And he can only be hit with Rend Flesh which noone will run anymore because of Horobi's Whispers

Ok heres a breakdown of my favorite stuff.

Toshi--Such a pimp
Iwamori--I think this is strictly better that wumpus
Kira--dunno about playability, but ability rocks
Eradicate--Collosus, gone. Kiki, gone. Duplicant, Gone. Fun combo with Genju. Too bad it doesn't hit Kokusho
Horobi's Whispers--Pretty much strickly better than banishing. GB rock is going to make you suck it with this and Kodama's Reach. Free Splice baby.
Ink-Eyes--Decent Black Fattie.
Kyoki--I just like this one


In my opinion though, the MOST broken Card in the set....SHIREI, SHIZO'S CARETAKER.

I have already built a deck that abuses the living hell out of this card.

Betrayers looks good to me. I mean if we are talking about bad sets (Prophecy, Homelands*cough*), then nothing ever really happens except people hazing the threads about how every set sucks. Honestly im a realtive newbie to magic, Mirrodin was my first set. I have to say, if you want a block that really sucks, Mirrodin. I base this on the fact that my very first time ever in a FNM tourney when just like this. My friend litterally taught me how to play 2 days in advance. My first FNM tournamnet match was like my 7th match EVER. I had just figured out all the rules to the point that i could play and not piss off my opponent. The night before, my friend threw together a affinity deck (this is pre-darksteel broodstar affinity too.). I beat the living crap out of my first three opponents, none of them what i would call bad players by the standards i play today. One of them was running clerics, a good clerics and the other had a decent Astral Slide. I took 4th. And that is why Mirrodin is broken as hell, because a newbie can pick up a bad Mirrodin deck and beat the hell out of a person who has been playing for 5 years.

Im going to say that the second is Body of Jukai, the fourth is Kodama of the Center Tree, the 7th is Hidetsugu, and the 9th is nerzumi patron. I don't really know about the first. All the other's we now know.

dissapointing. I was in some crazy, inane part of my mind hoping they would preview a good card. BTW, are they beating us over the head with the enchantment stuff or what?

well there is obviously going to be at least 1 ninja, because we haven't seen the card for the really hot ninja chick on the cover of the blue precon.

Wizards won't make a planeswalker card EVER because the whole point behind magic is that the PLAYER IS A PLANESWALKER. That would me that a Planeswalker card would have to be like a whole player, which is impossible.

Actually, i can see this guy and other ninja's being a big help for control. With control, your opponent won't have enough creatures to block with, so you don't have to worry too much. Smash with stalking stones, and suddenly, bam, you have a ninja? I can see ninjas being control's new butt buddy. Also, props to wizards for putting ninjas in the 2 colors with fear and flying. Man im going to have fun turning birdies and wandering ones and nerzumi cutthroats into ninja. TOKENS TOO.
