boy, best back ive ever opened? thats a tough one. among my circle of friends im known as the guy who always opens all that mythic rares and everything. but the flat out best pack had to be when i cracked a jace the mindsculptor in target
i was incredibly excited for new phyrexia. incredibly stupid confusing and overpower karn planeswalker makes me lose all faith in wizards. every last bit of it
i want to call infinite fake on all of this. if karn is true i will kill someone and cry myself to sleep for the rest of my life. i want him to die! or at least be corrupted for gods sake. is that really too much too ask?
Yes... that rather fits...
But, what if Jin and Sheoldred were actually forged from the same piece of metal? Though they just happened to possess different prerogatives.
Maybe that's all the Praetors are- Phyrexians forged from a single powerful metal which is capable of hosting all colors of mana. Thusly, identifying one another as brother and sister in addition to leaders of their own respective mana alignment.
Erg... I feel like I always do this. Just wondering about things without actually having any backing or much understanding of Mirrodin's story, I'm sorry. ^ ^;
look at it this way, if nothing else, at least your ideas are relatively interesting. at least i think they are.
I went 4-1 with a B/G infect. the only reason i really lost round 1 was because of a nasty combination of mana screw and Koth's Courier. Every other game went smoothly when i didnt get mana screwed or flooded, just trampled over everyone. Didnt pull anything all that interesting, putrefax, contagion engine, three rot wolfs, phycosis crawler. The engine was an absolute life saver, the proliferate got me the into the finals. Had to drop after that though, so i happily accepted fourth place and walked away with four phyrexian packs, which didnt net me anything cooler then a Praetors Council. but hey! fourth place isnt bad, right?
i personally like MBS a lot more then any of the other second sets weve seen lately. Conflux was just sad. Worldwake was the Jace lottery. at least some of the cards in this set seem pretty interesting. I personally love infect, or maybe im just a sucker for anything with a phyrexian watermark.
I fought in for the glory of phyrexia, and actually did pretty good with a G/B infect deck. didnt nessesarilly open anything too exciting, but it managed to get me into the top 4 out of 18 people. couldnt stay for finals though, so i happily dropped in fourth place. i have to say my MVC was Contagion Engine, that card saved me so many times and got in those final two poison counters. I had to mulligan down to five almost every game though, guess i just wasnt shuffling right, always getting mana screwed and mana flooded. but in the end i walked away with four packs. im satisfied
Well there has been infighting among higher ups in phyrexia before. i cant remember the book exactly, it was in artifacts cycle two, i want to say it was bloodlines but im not entirely sure, but there was the huge power struggle between Davvol and and Croag, and lets not forget all the other fiascos over the title of Envicar of Rath.
from the little testing ive managed to do so far, its not having the best of times against Valakut. its 50/50 either way. against U/W control, if it doesn't win in the first 5 turns or so its a lost cause. the deck never seems to be able to generate just enough steam as it needs to.
but then again, dont take my word for it. i could just be a really bad deck tester. i still really like this deck and still think its worth looking into
ive only been playing since time spiral, so maybe my opinion isnt valid, but i find the recent sets fun. yeah, i feel everyone once and a while that the spoilers are getting dissapointing, but when it comes time to actually play with the cards im always impressed.
if your going to run White Red and Blue, and your going to run control, and your going to be winning by solely by planeswalkers, then you need to take it up to the next level.
American Planeswalking Walls.
but yeah, im riding on the Jace Train. Ide cut the vensers and maybe throw in some more path to exiles, because its just that good.
If your running cards like Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek, it shouldnt be too difficult of a problem to remove those sweepers and removal spells before they can hit your creatures, and lets not forget that sorceries cant touch Inkmoth Nexus. and even if you do get sweeped, Mimic vat can help you get on your feet again.
