A creature with protection from <color> cannot be blocked by creatures of <color>. Them are the rules.
502.7a Protection is a static ability, written “Protection from [quality].” This quality is usually a color (as in “protection from black”) but can be any characteristic value. If the quality is a type, subtype, or supertype, the protection applies to sources that are permanents with that type, subtype, or supertype and to any sources not in play that are of that type, subtype, or supertype.
502.7f If a creature with protection attacks, it can’t be blocked by creatures that have the stated quality.
It also cannot be dealt damage by those creatures, if it blocks them, correct?
Let's say one of my creatures has protection from blue, and my oponent has out a River Kaijin, can he blocked my creature with the Kaijin, and just not deal it damage? That's what I always though, but after reading game 45 here, I am lead to believe otherwise. So, what's right? Can creatures block creatures with protection from their color?
Mannichi gives me another idea, using Soratami Mirror-Guard to make it unblockable, then switching the P/T back. Too bad that requires 9 mana a turn...
Well, Mannichi + Kami of Old Stone + Mirror-Guard isn't bad...
It's pretty good with Mannichi the Fevered Dream. Turn five attack for six, switch power and touchness once damage has been stacked. There are very few creatures with a power of six that will be around on turn five. This means: It won't die, and it will kill whatever blocks it. Not bad.
It says "Whenever you play a spirit or arcane spell, each other creature gets +1/+1 and gains trample." I presume this means each creature other than the tree, right? Not other than the spirit that you just played?
* Gogf rams his head into a wall several times. Well, there's still Veil of Secrecy. You'd still have to wait until turn five, six if you wanted to splice.
So can I regenerate a creature that was Pulled Under (Pull Under)? I'll guess that's a no, as I know that Pull Under can destroy indestructable creatures.
Well, playing an Unchecked Growth on this could be devasting. It basically becomes a turn five, haste, Body of Jukai, without the soulshift. Not bad.
It's also incredibally powerful if you keep splicing Hundred-Talon Strike to give it first strike each turn.
And then, it's unbelievable with Minamo Sightbender. The creature has a converted mana cost of :0mana:, so on turn three you can animate the land for :2mana:, tap the sightbender and pay to make it unblockable, and the attack for six. It's basically a four turn countdown for your oponent. Three if you can get in one burn spell in as well (Lava Spike is a good option). WOW!
To avoid this getting off topic: what I posted here basically explains why it deserves to be the arena foil (not really sure what that is, but from what I've read in this thread, it's a specially alternative art foil card (given out at prereleases?) given to very good cards).

Not an amazing combo, but not aweful either.

I love drafts, but we only had a sealed deck.
Anyway, is the white Genju decent enough to hate draft if you're not drafting white?
Yes, it's too bad :(.
