Mindcrank is a pretty cheap way to fill opponents' graveyards. Be aware though that it forms an infinite loop with Bloodchief Ascension, causing instant kills.
What exactly are your wincons here?

FlopItOut posted a message on Geth, Lord of the Vaultdepending on how much you use your general, amulet of vigor can be very strong in geth. Instant speed reanimate-block is some terrifying stuff. also grabbing people's mindslaver or nevinyrral's disk or oblivion stone for an instant speed permanent wrath can save gamesPosted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
vesuva, thespian's stage and deserted temple to tack onto cabal coffers is pretty strong
nirkana revenant for an extra caged sun-effect that can also swing for lethal with surprising ease
i would also consider necropotence. too much card advantage to ignore
... and on another note 1000th post! :toot::toot::toot: -

Posted in: Legacy ArchivesQuote from olystuartExcept that Shusher gets hit by all the creature removal too so it's probably only doing anything for a turn or two at best. I'm going to test with > 4 'blasts. 4 Pyro- + 2 REB in the Vexing Shusher/whatever else slots actually sounds pretty good.
The "It dies to removal" argument?
Counterbalance lock isn't coming online for a least the first couple turns of the game. Buying a couple more turns with Vexing Shusher might make it a tight race, but a total of 4 turns is a reasonable timetable for Burn to try to kill someone.
Personally, I'm more worried about relying soley on Red Elemental Blast and Pyrobast against a deck running Force of Will, Spell Pierce, and Counterspell in addition to Counterbalance than I am worried about Vexing Shusher getting hit by Terminus, Swords to Plowshares, or Supreme Verdict.
Don't get me wrong, I love Pyro/REB. But you're basically praying that they don't have the counter in hand when you try to remove/destroy 'Balance with it.
If you're not worried about Miracles being a big presence entering whatever tournament meta you're entering, that's fine. Then by all means don't waste sideboard space on Shusher. Use the Pyros/REBs if you don't chance across it. But if Miracles is a concern, then I don't get the logic behind not having a few copies of Shusher in sideboard.
The point I want to emphasize more than anything is that Vexing Shusher plays more directly into strategy you want to take against Counterbalance. You want to play out Goblin Guide and Bolts as fast as possible on the first few turns before the lock comes down. After that, playing a Shusher can win you the game easily enough even if it only survives a couple turns by making your "finisher" spells like Fireblast and Price of Progress uncounterable. You do not rush out Vexing Shusher on turn 2. You want to be spending all of your available mana in the early turns reducing their life total to 10 before they get the lock online. You then use Shusher to finish them off. And if you were lucky enough to start out the game with Goblin Guide, then by waiting to play Shusher they have very likely already used up a piece of removal to keep the Guide from killing them.
What I love about Shusher in the Miracle matchup is that it allows you to virtually ignore most of their deck and just win. Meanwhile, the REBs and Pyroblasts still need to resolve against them. Which can be iffy pre-lock, and all but impossible post-lock. Shusher wins out as a hate card in my book here because it is a viable post-lock answer to Counterbalance.
Also worth considering, you don't have to choose between REB/Pyro and Vexing Shusher in your sideboard. You can run some number of all of the above. -

And yet also exceptionally inconsistent, quick to proclaim with no basis, filled with misinformation and largely unfiltered and unregulated.
The internet has proven to be a phenomenal source of news this week as it has consistently outpaced televised news every step of the way. But it's just as susceptible of poor reporting, if not more so. This is a very intriguing topic, and one I want to make a thread for once this situation has ended. -

Me too especially with expanded matchup analysis/tips. Feline's primer is good but the matchups are just descriptions of what the deck is for the most part (good tip vs. High Tide aside). I would love to see sideboard strategies vs. different decks including how to best use the cards. For example which spell is best to hit with Mindbreak Trap vs different combo decks, how to best work around CounterTop, perhaps some tips on utilizing the stack to your advantage when that is helpful, things like that.Posted in: Legacy Archives - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I believe they're gonna be in both foil and non foil depending on what kind of events you play
edit: foils are for main events and fanatic packages, non foils are for double ups and PTQs

maybe I'm missing something due to have 0 experience playing big red

this is why I'd like to see them experiment more with unbans. Obviously there are some cards (like the artifact lands) that have always been on the ban list that should never see the light of day but I feel they could unban more cards just to see how they'll impact the format

I can see Riot creating interesting decisions as to when to give it thee counter or haste

I also think that I can say I'm happy they unbanned BBE as I feel it died for the sins of DRS and would also not negatively impact the format. While there are more decks that can sue it and better cards to hit off it, it still hasn't hurt the format

yidris is my powerful but not close to optimal build. When I wanna play something I enjoy and still reasonable
Ghave is my janky build for when I'm playing weaker/casual tables. I know ghave has a reputation of being dumb but my build is janky.
I haven't played enough edh to justify 3 decks over the past 6-8 months but I wanna have a fun deck and can't bring myself to take the others apart
