decided to play Kiki Chord at FNM last night for a change. Went 4-0 but still dunno how comfortable I am with the deck. since I only played 1 (possibly 2) "real" decks.
Round 1 I quickly 2-0 some janky RW deck that his buddy's girlfriend brewed up. beat him with the combo both games before I really got to see what the deck did
round 2 I beat mono red goblins deck 2-1. Game 1 he drew flooded and I just valued him out. Game 2 he beat me down before I could do much. Game 3 he put good pressure on but I was able to chord for a resto then evo for a Kiki
Round 3 I beat merfolk 2-1. Game he didn't really play well or get much going. Game 2 he was able to t1 vial then t2 and I couldn't do much after. Game 3 he had to mul to 5. I was able to keep his early pressure off then get him down to 2 cards in hand. I figured he had something if he was sitting on 2 cards for this long, so I chord for 3, which resolved. so I got a sin collector to look and see 2 vapor snags. Took one and tried to pressure the other. Couldn't force it so I cast an evo for a resto and blinked the sin collector, then went for the combo and won
Round 4 I beat some very budget UB control list 2-0. Somehow he managed to be 3-0 as well, despite not being a very good list. Game 1 I beat him pretty easily with a reveillark. It was kind of bad news if he would have been able to answer it or not, he just wasn't able to. Game 2 was back and fourth butt I valued him out and snuck out a win
I mean its hard to say where I'm at with the deck since I only played one real deck. I felt I didn't mess up any lines of play but maybe I judt don't know the deck well
I went to a Face to Face Open a few weekends ago and played a merfolk player with MB relics, which really hurt me. Remand feels so bad against merfolk as well. I'm running 2 mb verdicts right now which is really good.
