"Kess's home is one of the few pockets of life remaining on the devastated shard-world of Grixis. She harvests vis, a magical substance that holds small bits of precious life energy, in hopes that she can one day use it to restore what was lost."
Dire Undercurrents seems to be too ambitious with only like 4-5 creatures to trigger it. Maybe change into Omniscience with a sweet Nicol Bolas art?
Reins of Power can win games out of nowhere and has minotaurs on a picture, most importantly it sounds like the most Bolas card ever. Also Soul's Fire depicting Ajani who later kicked the heck out Nicol works really well with a dragon.
Haven of the Spirit Dragon seems nice - especially that you can return Ugin. Maybe instead of Volrath's Stronghold since Volrath has nothing to do with Nicol?
I think most of the games on MTGO (and I played like 200) are Baral into Polymorph + Emrakul or Vial Smasher into Delve or Tasigur/Leovold + value or Azusa/Nissa + Mana Dork into Green Ramp with land destruction. Occasionally, you can see Zurgo and other decks. Only prohibitive cost of some cards didn't cause more people to run one of those decks or make it even more ridiculous. Format is not fun, but hey, who said that competitive Commander 1v1 can be balanced or fun? It feels more like a different version of legacy.
So they miss like 10 chances to print IoK in MM2, Eternal Masters, Return to Zendikar and Innistrad. Instead, they create a flavor suicide and put it in a Conspiracy 2, then up its rarity. Classic Wizards.
I can already see that this is one of my top5 favorite sets ever. Almost every card feels interesting and amazing. Of course, it's very subjective, but feel like return to Innistrad was worth it in comparison to Zendikar.
Who cares about mythic or lord!? They just created one of the most OP standard decks that is going to ruin fun for next two years. 1-drops - this (an upgraded Cursecatcher) and Topplegeist, 2-drops - flying Dauntless Escort and flash-flying removal counterspell Rattlechains. Then you get counterspell Spell Queller and Bygone Bishop or the spirit the bounces other spirits. And we have hundred cards to get something else spoiled. Add Gideon, Essence Flux, Thunderclap Wywern, whatever. This deck just looks OP. And people are complaining about humans...
