this really confirms that the purple cards aren't standard legal, and probably not extended legal.
the cool thing is - they almost have to be legal in draft, or else there's too few cards in a draft... this makes drafting even more funny (which gives them more money), AND it even pushes casual for the tournament players, they get to see (and play in draft perhaps?) cool cards, which will make them play casual (which will make them more money).
and it kind of supports buying and opening packs. i think.
in todays arcana, we get to see a small picture of a snow covered land. you can see it has 4 words in its type-line, and one of them is after a - , so it is island.
if you check the oracle, todays standard is 5, including land-type:
snow covered basic land - island
are htey removing the basic?
EDIT: it has been discussed in the fatpack thread, i see...
that leaves one slot, maybe cut the boiling seas, since shard phoenix might be enough against counters...
also, there's not much against weenies, except pithing needle (jitte) and the maindecked ghost-lit raider. but running pyroclasm AND raider against WW/WWR and the GB(W)-beats is VERY anti-synergic.
but there's two thing i will test:
1) ghost-lit raider - is he good enough?
2) do we need more than the maindecked burn for aggro decks?
notes to myself:
-test against weenie decks (frostling/GLR, pyroclasm)
-test against bluebased control (boil, shard phoenix)
i have tested a little against new decks, and it does well, very much because BGW and the other decks using much pick/pain lands are giving me two free shocks
no char. flames of the blood hans is better for the share fact that WWR (and all its combinations) is big. you have enough of other burn to take their creatures, and char does not win the damage race..., which flames does (preventing three life from lightning helix.)

personally i hope for a alltime favourites-block, though - as that would spice up extended extremely.
time spiral - dj spin that ****!
just brainstorming
that means one of those won't be a bad card if you draw it on turn , but not when you draw it on turn five after having played the living city!
1 foil portugese specter
1 english specter
1 BB russian underground river
1 karplusan forest
1 caves of koilos
1 early harvest
2 might of oaks
top it? it was from two of these 9-packs though
edit: i just recieved a mail i sent to customer service, complaining about the boosters, this is the answer:

(i might have answered my own queston here, but)
2 pithing needle (COP:RED, jitte, top)
1 genju of the spires
1 hidetsugus second rite (for "accidentally flashing" to drive the opponent into mana burn)
3 boiling seas (MUC)
3 zo-zu, the punisher (against G/X/X/X/X controldecks)
1 shard phoenix
that leaves one slot, maybe cut the boiling seas, since shard phoenix might be enough against counters...

that's 8 cards that does nearly nothing on their own, and not too much together either - since i have few creatures.
