Marsh Flats is on the move gaining roughly $5-6 to $42 in the past few days. This without a doubt has to do with the rising popularity of BW Eldrazi Processors.

Six months later, what are people's thoughts on this card? I run a 450 with limited support for green aggro but I'm thinking of tamping down some of the higher end stuff (e.g. Tooth & Nail, Genesis Wave) for a bit more cheap stuff.

I believe the power of Collected Company lies in running it in 2-3 color ETB decks most notably in Bant colors. Getting Phantasmal Image, Kitchen Finks at instant speed just makes this card nuts. I am not sure how it fares in an aggro shell but playing value creatures with Company can really swing a game in your favor. It's currently my favorite deck to draft in my cube.

The downside to Company is that you really need to pick it in pack 1 or already be in the Reveillark/tempo type deck. Even then it warps your draft around it since you do have to commit fairly into it. Otherwise there will be drafts where this card is just flat unplayable.

As with the other cheap C it really has me nervous about the mana base but I love this thing. Putting a land on the battlefield is great and that will happen a good chuck of the time improving your next draw and ramping, getting another creature is just money though. Can you put this back on to will Volrath's stronghold with the ability on the stack so it would come right back out?

For an unpowered cube, supporting the new colorless theme means that the painlands become higher picks now. I always felt that my playgroup undervalued painlands as untapped duals.

Seems like an insane card to me especially in the Collected Company deck. Probably my favorite deck to draft and this card looks like to be a fine addition for it.

Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger seems to be slowly ticking up these past few weeks after bottoming around $14.50. There's a few Standard and Modern lists he shows up in according to mtggoldfish but has there been any standout cases where Ulamog shines in?

As someone who bought 3 of them recently from my LGS, there are 2 reasons that Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger has gone up.

The first one is that a Naya Ramp deck won the Player's Championship. Although it is an odd meta, only being the 16 best SCG players, Naya Ramp does indeed seem like a wonderful choice at a tournament in a sea of Dark Jeskai and Abzan Aggro. Ulamog is a 4 of in the deck.

The second reason is because of Modern and the main reason I bought them. Bx Processors is a deck picking up steam and the deck plays 2 of them, while being able to Eye of Ugin up a copy if needed. It is the top end of the deck, although in my opinion after playing only 6 rounds, Ulamog may end up being unnecessary.

Just as a price update, Ulamog has cracked the $20 from around $15-16 in less than a week. Foils have moved closer to the promo version so there is no longer a gap between the 2.

Main draw of Gatekeeper for me is that it's a solid 2/3 drop for the mono-black archetype. However, I've had newer players quite often fall into the trap by drafting the card in a 3 color deck. Actually it happened in the last cube draft I hosted. Body for Bearer is much nicer than just being a harder to cast bear in Gatekeeper. I think it's worth a cut over Gatekeeper.

If your opponent had nothing (except land cards) and then draws a removal, you gave him a free card. Which is pretty bad.

As I said though, he doesn't have much time to draw that removal, since a 4/4 is a pretty quick clock.

Yeah, it's a real drawback. I'm just saying that I'd rather see 0 nonlands than 2+, even if they get CA in the long run.

That's a bummer, I did not realize this as a possibility. I probably won't go out of my way to pick this one up then. If only it had a clause that your opponent will only draw a card if you exiled something.

I probably will end up testing this guy out at the very least. Its effect is quite unique being a Clique/Sculler hybrid that lacks the versatility of Clique but has a better effect than Sculler. A random card vs. their best card in their hand at the time seems like a pretty good tradeoff. I'm curious how stringent the new colorless mana symbol will be on the average cube. It does make the 10 painlands even better in my cube now.

Relic of Progenitus is being bought out now. Planechase and Modern Masters copies are all gone and the other versions shall soon follow.

Buy Sylvan Library Commander's Arsenal foil for $73?

It's the cheapest I've seen this card for awhile but it's kind of a risky purchase with Commander 2015 right around the corner. Is this a candidate for a Commander 2015 reprint? I'm not sure if it will happen. Thoughts?

It doesn't matter if it's reprinted in C15. The Arsenal Foil will retain its value. I wouldn't buy the 4E printing (and I just traded mine away), but the Arsenal is always a solid pickup.

Thanks for your thoughts as always. I thought a Sylvan Library reprint would inevitably hurt the Commander's Arsenal version because the Commander's Arsenal version is the only modern frame Sylvan Library available. Still, it's very unlikely to see another Sylvan Library foil so I guess it's a relatively safe buy.

Would you buy sealed BFZ prerelease boxes at $30? At $4 MSRP per pack, the promo needs to be at least $6 to break even. Is that worth the gamble? I am looking to buy the box for 2 casual drafts with friends as the next best thing since fat packs aren't available. I'm not cracking it solely for just pulling a promo Gideon.

I would not. Like you said, the promo needs to be $6 to break even, and you don't have good odds of that.

Thanks for the reply! It's kind of hard to justify it since my friend is selling packs from his box for the draft at $3 a piece.

That really clinches it. Unless you know that he already pulled a foil rare/mythic/expedition from his box Smile

Now your promo has to be $12 in order to justify the cost.

Lol no he opened half of it. He only got a Sire and a Path. No Expedition, good foils, lands, or other mythics so I think the rest of the box is a gold mine.
