I agree that its going to be better. True there will be decks that can support five colors, especially with so many color fixers nowadays, vivid lands, hybrid lands, tribal lands, etc. If that does happen, you just don't sideboard it in, simple as that. But I believe that most of the decks will become two or one color. And it'll sill be pretty easy in a three color deck to figure out a player's main color. Especially with so many color matters cards there may be more mono-colored decks.
So yes I think it will improve but the truth is, the decks out there right now tend to be two colors and Story Circle isn't getting played much. I've always liked it and hope it sees more play.
omg I'm LOVING Finch's combo w/devoted druid, utopian vow and leech bonder!! I'm seriously in love with Leech Bonder, I think its going to be a fantastic limited card and combos like this prove it! If you want to keep this Llorwyn block you can use one of the equipments from morningtide (can't remember which one, taps to do damage) or even in Shadowmoor use Power of Fire to give Leech Bonder "tap: deal one damage to target creature or player.
What if Oona is one of the other "Demigods?" She's extremely powerful and in Glen Elendra she's like a Goddess. I think its quite likely that she could be theU/U/U/U/U/ demigod. She could be a legendary demigod
I actually think it makes a lot of sense for her to be black and the giant to be white. Since goblins have shifted Wort is most certainly going to be GR which leaves RB and unless there's an elemental legend that we don't know about, we don't have anyone for RB
Wizards loves their cycles but they also love switching stuff up, they've done broken cycles before where they're not perfectly symmetrical. I'm pretty sure Oona is going to be Black.
And another reason flavorwise that might make sense for her and Rosheen to be mono colored. Of these six, Oona and Rosheen are the only ones that remember Lorwynn and are the only ones that are monocolored. Makes sense to me!
I really think that Wither is the opposite of reinforce. It makes perfect sense. They're printing the opposite of incremental growth, they're continuing the theme of counters only with -1-1 counters, and they want things to be opposite.
So I'm sure that cards with Wither will be
Wither X-Y (Y, Discard this card: Put X -1/-1 counters on target creature.)
Y is the mana cost to pay for the wither cost.
There is one strike against the idea though, "discard" is in the orb 9 times whereas "wither" is there 22 times. So unless they've templated it differently than reinforce, I'm probably sticking my foot in my mouth. I still think that wither is going to be very similar to Reinforce
I think its possible that she's just a creature and not a planeswalker. Everyone says that because her art is so large she must be a planeswalker, but she could also be used as the promo card for champs, the full sized art ones.
Faeries are B/U and are a bit of both, I think it stands to reason that she'd be hybrid. and I bet you she's part of the doubling cycle
Well it really all depends on what hybrids end up being in shadowmoor. I mean first off there will be 131 golds card but in order to make the Wish worth it they not only have to be good but also have to be able to fit into a deck.
I think there's definitely a very good chance though, especially since with the return of hybrid there should be some good ones, they're probably trying to give it a triumphant return. And if nothing else, you talking about how people should buy them before the set comes out will get people buying them which will inherently raise the price.
I'm not really that surprised. It makes perfect sense. There's going to be a lot of stuff in this set about Hybrid, it only makes sense that there should be lands that produce hybrid mana. The color pairs of the creature types changed too. Elves were B/G and had their land, but now they're W/G and will need a new land.
The only thing I don't like about this is that the flavor text of Graiven Cairns doesn't sound like Shadowmoor.
yeah thats what I'm trying to say, that its more of an Avatar cycle rather than a demigod cycle. Each of the avatars have a way of doubling something, in Revenge's case, he brings himself from the grave. I also think that the other avatars will be hybrids with the other allied colors.
I was just looking over MaRo's most recent article and he spoke of a cycle that uses his favorite word, but only one of them actually uses this word.
I know that one of his favorite words is "double" which he's only recently been able to use. He wrote an article about how much he loved Doubling Season etc.
And when he said that most of the cards would only imply doubling that reminded me of Demigod of Revenge. When you play the card and there's one in the graveyard you've essentially "doubled" it.
After checking the orb of insight, there's only 4 instances of the word "demigod" 3 of them are taken up by the one we already have. So that means there's only one other which does not refer to itself in its text box.
So even though there won't be a cycle of demigods there is 5 instances of the word "avatar" and I'm sure that if there is a doubling cycle Demigod of revenge is part of it. So I think there's a doubling avatar cycle.
What do you think the other Avatars are and what/how do you think they "double?"
It stands to reason that they would also be each of the allied colors R/B, B/U, U/W, W/G, G/R

I'm at a loss for other words. And judging by this thread I have no life lol
I think there may be an appearance. There may be one or two cards but I doubt they will have a major presence. I totally agree with wcsae, I doubt they're actually that traditionally Irish, though to appease the Americans they might add a few. The truth is, Elves aren't Irish either, at least not the Magic kind. So they're probably not going to stick as close to Irish mythology as they did for Kamigawa.
So yes, I'd say they're a possiblity but only on a card or two
Infective Vermin 1B
Creature- Rat
When Infective Vermin comes into play lose 2 life
Whenever a creature blocks Infective Vermin, that creature's controller sacrifices that creature.

Also any "Q" creature with drowner of secrets or summon the school or that changeling from morningtide
