what do we think of Qasali Pridemage in the sideboard? my maindeck plays 4 Vial/2 Horizon Canopy/1 Cavern of Souls, so getting it into play seems feasible. it's slower than Disenchant or Leonin Relic-Warder but it seems a lot more versatile. for example it looks really strong in the mirror match, whereas the other two aren't as good. I haven't had much of a chance to test it yet, but so far it's pretty solid

Btw, anyone else just get completely sh*t on by Pox?

Pox really struggles against Aether Vial, but it can be a lot harder if you don't draw it. overall I consider it a pretty good matchup though

according to this, calling "Lavamancer" is an acceptable shorthand. i'm pretty confident that even if he does the "ITS NOT A CARD" thing, you get a chance to call something else, but I'm not as sure about that.

I love how Prosak said something along the lines of "Flickerwisp seems really weak in this match up..." right before the match started.

i believe he also said "it'd only be used to hit fetchlands", so there's a good chance he didn't actually read the card

The huge problem is Umezawa's Jitte. The card eats this deck alive, and I think our Esper matchup has weakened becaue of it. Also the tribal strategies or Junk or whatever will have a field day with an active Jitte, because they have beefier creatures. Jitte with 2 counters kill every creature in the deck, so I am very worried that I can't just defend with more Jittes (which was the key reason for having a second in the board)

I don't actually agree with this. although the deck is full of squishy creatures that die to Jitte, it's also probably the best deck in the format at shutting down Jitte. Mother and StP (and to a lesser extent Thalia and Mirran Crusader) stop it from getting its first counters, and Revoker is amazing against it. In my experience with the deck, most of the time a Jitte has been legend-ruled, it's been my opponent destroying mine, not the other round

I actually wonder if there are any decks these 2 cards would not be good against. Anybody know of such a deck?

they're pretty awful against RUG Delver

I am even tempted to pull mindbreak, outside elves (which will be there) and a vague rumour of storm, I see them taking up room. I also find the timing frustrating what do you break against elves? Reanimator may be there as a one of so I am questioning even having the GY hate. Some ideas, more enchantment hate, some broader control or even something random I have mentioned both Drought and Preesence of the Master.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

i admittedly haven't tested mindbreak trap so this is purely speculative, but I can't imagine it being very good against Elves, just because it'll only counter one spell and it won't usually be able to hit the first Glimpse of Nature

another good time to fake a Vial activation is in response to your opponent casting Jace, the Mind Sculptor (or anything with an activated ability that can be used immediately) when your vial is at 2

Scores 17 to 20 he is comboing away with elves has two glimpse of nature in play and is drawing like the man with no name. He's looking for concordant crossroads to swing in for a horrifying amount of damage, he finally gets it with only one card left in his deck. He swings with everything that is left untapped and after blocking deals 11 damage.

I top deck Cataclysm and leave myself mom and a pithing needle him with regal whatever. Pass. He draws his last card swings mom blocks. Pass. I pass, WIN!!! Cataclysm FTW!

once I played a game against Elves where I Flickerwisped his Regal Force to mill him out
