They will probably always have equips in every set or block and there is no way they will ever run out of ideas for the keyword. #2 Banding should have been #1. I mean come on man.Posted in: Improbable Things

I'd suggest cutting the Incinerator personally. You need lots to go right for that to work.

First change I would suggest is cutting the Harrow. I love that card just as much as anyone else since it was a big player in Domain back in the day. But it does have the disadvantage of sacrificing a land when cast. A counterspell opponent can 2-1 you. 2-1s aren't too bad as your deck is designed in a way but it does suck for you main wincon to be 2-1'ed. In that place I would suggest Explore. That will let you dig deeper for your wincon and also allow land drops.
In place of the Rangers Path I'd suggest Nissa's Pilgrimage While doesn't go from 4 to 7 can be bad it does get you from 4 to 6 or 7 over a few turns it costs less mana. I'd cut 2 maps (6 Val searches should be enough) in favor of Search for Tomorrow. This helps you get to where you are casting your spells a little faster. Efficiency is king in modern.
I just thought of this. Scrying Sheets would help if you replaced all the remaining Forests with Snow-Covered Forests. It would occasionally work as CA while also letting you activate to see if the top card is one you need prior to casting one of your spells. I'm sure there are times that you cast a card and search for a forest mid to late game where the Omen or the dryad was on top.

The deck works like most any other Dredge deck, but sacrifices a little of the explosiveness for a more grind potential game.
Silversmote Ghoul is the centerpiece here. It allows you to sacrifice at any time to Dredge. The Cookbooks allow you to keep throwing back your Dredge cards for more food to continue the process. After a few rounds of this you'll start having more Amalgams and Ghouls that keep coming back to railroad (pun intended)the opponent out of the game.
The Single Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar is in place to be possibly brought back with a Cookbook to wipe away any trouble creatures that get in the way. If you were unfortunate enough to mill it in the first place.
If you were unfortunate enough to mill past all the Cookbooks then hopefully you hit the Cling. It serves double duty here. Can get back your Silversmote Ghouls or just go straight into the Dredge. Both have the same end result, but the Ghoul package gets your Amalgams back in the process.
After SB you should aggressively fetch out the Triome to be able to cast Claim for whatever SB cards they brought in. While the deck can easily survive a single graveyard wipe it helps against the more permanent effects. Rip and Leyline.
The Brazen Borrowers are also there for the sane purpose, but can also deal with pesky creatures or Plainswalkers in the process.
For those new to Dredge bring back your Amalgams via Silversmote Ghouls is an effective way to avoid sweepers. The Ghouls come back only on your Eot which triggers the Amalgams to come back on the opponent's Eot. They all enter tapped so it's better if possible to avoid the sweepers in this way.
I hope you enjoy.
But to help with the deck maybe adding in a few of the SB Karns would help. That'll increase your bridge count to effectively 7 and give you outs to other troubling cards. Such as finding needle vs PWs or Saga.
Not sure if all the STM online are the same. Would matter more than the Plains.
Edit: Nice looking match! Glad to see you still here pushing this deck forward.

Real quick first draft on an Abzan Food deck. Going to come back later and correct the names. Wanted to quickly type it up while thinking about it.
Right now it fits too fair. Needs discard and another source of discard. Lands also need work. I usually just do something like this before tweaking. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
