I quit during Onslaught block and resumed playing in Zendikar, but have a very keen interest in knowing about Mirrodin + the adventures of Glissa and friends. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Forgot to say it yesterday, I've spent more than 400$ (convert peso to dollar) in Zendikar standard before going to Legacy. Fortunate that I still have enough resources left to buy 5 revised dual lands. But if that 400+$ I've spent / wasted on standard was spent on Legacy instead, I probably have more than just 5 duals right now..
Karakas, got one for 40$ before Christmas of 2011.
Now it's at least 60$ each.
Are you talking to me or to Nervedamage?
I'm pretty much open to discussion about the card (wrath).
For my deck it's Lightning Helix vs. Wrath (-1 helix + 1 wrath). Another reason I chose to remove 1 helix for wrath is because my meta has many Tempo Thresh / RUG decks. Stifle and waste is hard on my mana base, so I have the habit of trying to fetch a mountain to be still able to cast one mana burn spells. R of wrath is easier to cast than RW of helix.
From my experience having one is ok, replaced one Lightning Helix with it. 5 damage is a lot, usually it kills a large creature or hit opponent's life total really hard. Only one because it's as good as a dead card if it's in my opening hand. Situatations where I can reach 6 mana to be able to pay it's non-Miracle cost is rare. 2 reasons why Helix is the one I replaced: My deck has 4 Helix so losing one won't make much difference, also.. I have this habit of fetching a basic mountain as an insurance that I can still bolt and grim someone who is active in using wasteland, and that one mountain is enough to cast a top decked Thunderous Wrath.
The random discard is what puts me off though, I'm vaguely reminded why Sonic Seizure isn't good.
But who knows, there could be a deck that would need him.
W: Baneslayer Angel - in a casual game, helped me survive long enough to win against someone using Liege of the Pit and several other flying creatures.
R: Grim Lavamancer
B: Vampire Nighthawk
U: Delver of Secrets
3: Etched Champion
Gold: Sliver Legion
I'm really liking this new setup.
In the previous one, some people created threads of their own and those got mixed in with the official threads. Now, all those small threads are left behind in one place, while the official threads for decks are all neatly arranged in their respective places. Thanks and good work to the mod who spent time and effort reorganizing.
I have read the online comic at the mtg official website.
But for people who don't know about the story, the image could suggest something else..
Try putting them inside the book, instead of just placing the book on top of them.
I once had a similar problem with foil lands, and it got solved by placing the cards in the middle of encylopedia and then placing the encyclopedia tightly back into the bookshelf (other encyclopedias pressing against it from both sides). I left the cards there for weeks and now they're flat again. Double sleeved the flattened cards and they don't curl anymore.
For casual play. I've been using Infernal Contract in place of Sign in Blood, and it helped reduce the fizzle rate. However, because of that the deck just roll over and die against any decent deck with counterspells. A countered Infernal Contract is almost always a loss, because there's little mana left to do other things.
As I was reading the report, I thought you're going to give up after got hit by the deed.
But you didn't give up and still won, and that's something I don't see everyday.
Izzet Boilerworks if you're really low on cash, it's quite slow so perhaps choose it only as a last resort.
Congratulations on your victory.
The way you handled the Nic Fit deck in the top 8 is nice.
Playing against something with multiple Pernicious Deeds is hard for an affinity deck.
