So I got sent here after posting in the competitive bant thread: I've been working on a slight variant of dark bant, trying to squeeze in Knight of Meadowgrain because they're so great. Basically I tried to run as efficient creatures as I could. I'd love to fix the mana base, which is a little iffy, and get any ideas:

I've been working with something like this off-and-on. Its kinda fun. I've found Commander to be quite amazing. I'm really tempted to splash red for Lightning Helix and Boros Swiftblade and such.
I sometimes find I have a ton of mana, with some good permission, but can't do anything with the spare ~8 mana. I've also had issues with factory/ghazis, because I've had a hard time squeezing in Ghost Quarters.
As such, I've been thinking of either a Dimir or Azorius Guildmage, as both are good targets to tutor up and are, at worst, bears.
MA's T8 were, in order of what I can recall, Zoo (winning), Dragonstorm (with sins of the past tech), 2 WUR Japanese Flare decks (from two guys just-back from Kobe), UG agro (didn't catche nough to see if it was Dutch-style or Scryb+Force), UR Tron (2nd place), a WUB Flare or Solar Pox deck (didn't catch much)...I think Vore lost to zoo really fast in the quarters so I didn't see that duel...and I can't remember the deck Dragonstorm played in the quarters.
The idea is nice, but the deck seems to be going in too many directions at once. There's a momentary blink deck that's being tossed around O-Gaming that's performed somewhat decently, and is certainly a ball to play.
My personal build is a little different, but this is certainly an excellent starting point. Counters aren't too needed (because of the reuseability of the spells), although IIRC, I have a factory or two to put pressure on heavy counter decks. The Blink functions similarly to your Trickbind, but also gets an additional use. The role of counterspells is also partially filled by Blink, since it lets your guys dodge spot removal easily (and twice).
You could probably go for putting Tidespout in, to really make the deck degenerate once its online.
What's depressing to me is that we have almost all the components to put a good MBC build together, but there's no sweeper (except...what? Necroplasm?). Without a hideous laughter variant, I can't see the deck getting by a suped up agro deck.

Or we could go silly and make a single set Block (Time Spiral + Time Shift) tourney, just to be weird.
But it kinda sucks for people even a few points down theoretically having no shot at all at T8
