Well, just to clear some things up, the person who gave me the info only started coming to our shop about a month ago, and I had not been in there until recently, so I didn't really have a chance to talk to him when they were first in print. Also, in terms of it being a green card, like I said, he could not remember if it was situational or not (i.e. blocking creatures only etc.)
EDIT: Also, I will likely get a chance to talk to him again on Friday, so I will try to get some more concrete info at that time.
While at local card store for a draft tonight, a guy who often plays in there and also happens to work for a printing company where they print magic cards mentioned a new mechanic called, I believe, "sweep" where you return lands to your hand to improve an effect. For example, the one he mentioned was a white card where you return X lands to your hand to give target creature +X/+X until end of turn. (may have been situational, but he couldn't remember) Anyways, I can't post scans or anything, because I didn't actually get to see any cards, but this is someone I trust, and who I would not expect to make this kind of thing up.
Well here is a little bit of a departure from your build but there is a nice cog combo with avarice totem and tel-jelid stylus. Since both cost 1 mana you can easily search up either, then you use the avarice totem to grab one of your opponent's cards and then use the stylus to put the totem on the bottom of your library. You can then search back up the totem using artificiers intuition. (And you can even use your salvagers to get back the card you discarded)
Naturally I would also suggest running artificiers intuition (You can get a similar affect with aether spellbomb + trinket mage, but that requires 2 cards, where as artificers intuition is just one card)
Actually with Triskelion if you shoot twice and then have it shoot itself, it will kill itself (it will be a 1/1 with 1 damage on it). Thus, you can do 2 damage a turn, including opponents turns.
It seems to me like Betrayers had a lot of cards that mess with your opponent, whether it be some kind of hate or tapping creatures or bouncing or discard, etc. Basically, betrayers seems to reward aggresive play. (for example, Ninjas) Perhaps Saviours is a set that encourages a more defensive style of play with cards that protect your side of the board?
Ohhhhhhh merfolk would be awesome. I was thinking maybe it would be Angel though, since they aren't in Kamigawa and he says "not just one?" or something like that.
I could see green showing up in kind of a "revolt of nature" type situation where the dryads and treefolk and what not get angry because all the forests are getting destroyed and so they go to take down the city or something. (a la the part in The Two Towers where the treefolk mess stuff up) Maybe green could be the "bad guys" this time too, that would be sweet.
in the web of war would be great for any of the sacred mesa/mirari's wake build enchantress decks. Is this a real build or did i just make it up? YOU DECIDEEEEEEE.!
With a Kiki-Jiki enchanted with aura of dominion and an ember-fist zubera you can make a copy of your zubera, then tap 1 mana and the zubera copy to untap Kiki and make another. You can repeat this process until you run out of mana and then at end of turn all your little zubera guys die and trigger a bunch of damages. Note, this combo of course also works with the other zubera, but the red one seems like the best fit.
I'm guessing there will be a card like this in Saviours:
Kumano's Global Red Enchantment of Clunkiness
3RR
Enchantment
Whenever a creature an opponent controls is dealt damage by a source you control, remove that card from the game if it would be put into a graveyard from play this turn.
if you are going to use Seizan than I would suggest adding in maybe 2 of the Sanity's Eclipse guy. (6/4 demon, spiritcraft: oppenent removes a card in their hand from the game) Although his cost usually prohibits this ability from being useful as your oppenent will be out of cards, with Seizan it helps you stay ahead in card advantage.
Also, Sickening shoal might be good for this deck.

Also, Pentavus would be nasty with this guy.
