Wisetsm, I really like the deck, but I think if you have a mana base like Consume_Spirit_CDS, it will be better. And I think Might of Oaks is excellent in both decks, especially with the Rakdos Pit Dragon. Grull really needs a facelift, and i can see the potential of both decks. I think two Llanowar Elves is enough, three is max. Put in an extra beater and burn in their place.

    Just my opinion.

    well thanks alot....
anyway... i still defend that he is good and deserves a spot in any greenred deck from ld to grull, im not saying he should be mb but 2-3 sb isnt bad

It is good... it is a natural progression from Burning-Tree Shaman. Three mana for a 3/4 and then four mana for a 5/5. I always play one in mainboard and two in sideboard. For grull, after all those burn you have given the opponent, he will dread seeing Rumbling Slum hit the table. With Skarrg, the Rage-Pits, he is one tough monster.

IMHO, Spell Snare is not a bad maindeck. Nearly every other deck has a two mana drop (snaring those 'old snakes' seems so cool) or againts another control player, to snare his Mana Leak and Remand. Spell Snare would not be a dead card in hand.
But then, if it's not in the starting hand, will you mulligan until it is? Maybe... maybe not. One reason why I do not really like to play control decks is that the probability to lose to your own mistakes is very high.

Nice deck, but I think i'll try splashing black and replacing Beastmaster's Magemark with Necromancer's Magemark. Smile

The knell is perfectly costed, and playable in a sense. It really does not have to hit the table quickly, unless having a knell on the table with no creature cards in the graveyard can be considered a threat.

  • posted a message on Non-guild color combos viable in RAV sealed?
I keep a simple rule of thumb when building limited decks (sealed or normal draft), quality creatures beat removals, nearly all the time. I will target to have at least 17 creature spells in a 40-card deck, maybe up to 18 if I am short of other quality spells.

Also I have discovered that in Ravnica, you can actually play a multi-colored deck, even though they have nothing to do with the current guilds (G/R/U for example) just as long you have quality creatures. The enablers are the mana-fixing spells/cards and the dual mana producing lands.

Farseek and Civic Wayfinder is a must play if you are actually playing green. Farseek is a very powerful card even though it cannot search for a Forest, as it can search for those painlands (Overgrown Tomb anyone?). And there are the signets, which are very useful. Also the dual mana producing lands, although they tend to make you lose early tempo.

My friend actually played a five-colored deck during the pre-release just because he has some of those cards above. I would not say it's powerful, but it is possible to play with non-colored guild combos if you want to. But then, it is all up to your drafting strategy or the card pool you got.

Once Ravnica is legal, i got a few suggestions.

    1. Zombify is quite good, but Vigor Mortis will be a bit better i think.

    2. Ivy Dancer is good in the sideboard (I think nearly everybody plays green one way or the other). A 3CC creature. Not a lot of power though.

    3. Trophy Hunter could kill those 1/1 Faerie fliers (those hunter of the troll), grow a bit fat in the process and wear the hammer or naginata to go in for some damage. A good 3CC creature in my opinion. Hey... if there is nothing else to do, it can kill off your own BOPs, pumping itself and your Mortivore before going in for the kill.

    4. How about Shambling Shell? Sac it, put a +1/+1 counter on Mortivore, which gains another point of power and toughness with the shell now in the graveyard. High powered 3 CC creature.

    5. Kagemaro is quite risky in my opinion, as I am not sure how your hand will end up, or how big your opponent's creatures are, or how big your creatures are. Seeing that you already have cruel edict in the sideboard, maybe it is better not to play him.

Those are some ideas from me. Maybe it helps, maybe it will not. I have played in the pre-release, and find that these four cards to be quite good. I am not sure about using them in constructed though.

    1. Drop Mountain
    2. Cast Spark Elemental
    3. Attack
    4. Cast Blazing Shoal , discarding Myojin of Infinite Rage, targeting the Spark Elemental
    5. Cast another Blazing Shoal , discarding Bringer of the Red Dawn , or Furnace Dragon or... you understand what i mean...
    6. Gloat, grin, laugh... method of celebration is totally up to you.

    Note :
Please do not celebrate prematurely, as you will never know your opponent can counter this with his own Shoal, with Shining Shoal the baddest of em all.

Yup, you can only remove a counter to give the creature equipped +2/+2, not any creature.

Konda was kinda the bad guy in Kamigawa wasnt he?

Konda will be totally consumed by his hatred to the kami, and will be driven mad. It will be up to Isao, Enlightened Bushi, Fumiko the Lowblood and Toshiro Umezawa to save the samurais from this new threat.

What a story it will be.
