    She's back, boys and girls.

    What do we do?

Realistically... jam her in every zoo list that existed prior.

I wouldnt go crazy yet yall. Bbelf also means jund got better, and we suck against that.

Our usage will go up now. The unbans are great for us. We are good against both jund like decks and jace decks

So its flipping is pretty consistent and the journey side is also good? Its pretty much the only card in Rivals Ive been interested in, but no real time to test.

For me I fixed my mana by being a basically a mono black deck with 4 splashes... but when doing mana for 5 color decks, I usually focus on mana rocks and green land fixing. The more mana rocks and land effects you can grab, the more 5 color shenanigans you can constantly fire off. It takes up deck space though, which is the downside.

Sometimes the online meta and the paper are vastly different. Rally might be more important than consistency in paper... as paper seems more fast than online right now. how much is the RBg hollow one deck since you already own most of the cards? Maybe put that in your testing as its faster.

I agree. I fear something over the top (basically anything that makes bridge consistant) but anything that makes interaction easier but costs us a slot (rally vs this, we trade damage for interaction) should be fine.

As far as this current meta? Darkblasts and axes seem good. When snap pyro decks were in alot of us were using two axes main. Im out of the loop lately, but I cant see them not being useful against everything but tron storm and valakut.

Hey, message the mods or admins. I cant help any more due to my lack of modness, but the mods can connect you to the correct admin who can over ride all those protocols and get you set up.

    Hey Dies,

Why Batterskull over Umezawa's Jitte? It seems Umezawa's Jitte can disrupt more plans and can do it at instant speed. It can also kill lands if Living Plane is in play without another combo rectangle.

Also curious if Twilight Prophet tested well.

I tested Jitte in the past and wasn't a huge fan. I found that the combo with Living plane wasn't good enough since all the other combos already wipe the board already so that wasn't needed. It was primarily for the life gain which Batterskull usually gains more of. I can see Jitte replacing Batterskull now with the Partner meta becoming more prominent and with Sun titan and Humility Syneregy. I have been meaning to test it out.

Twilight Prophet was real bad. Like Awful bad.

Why was it so bad? I can believe it, but I'm trying to get a survay of peoples thoughts on it.

Dredge is still a great deck. Solid mid to high tier 2. The truth is what we are feeling is a little bit of power creep away from us. Wizards hasn't feed us new cards in over a year. Seriously... a year. Ixalan gave us nothing, and amonkhet (a grave themed block too) gave us like... 2 half-a-cards. We didnt get a kitesail freebooter or a power house like mom hug.

So our deck is faultering. Currently the meta is unkind to us too. Games are fast, we cant exactly interact, and the prime control and combo deck of the format use the yard so grave hate is high. Its basically a 2 punch KO for us.

That BR hallowone deck is basically all in dredge that isnt super weak to grave hate. I don't believe its as amazing of a deck as people think it is, its diff less consistent than us. But its faster and it doesnt roll over to hate...

We need new cards, something that makes us less soft to side hate, and something that helps us interact a bit more. Or if the meta shifts back to grind, well do just find.

I have to admit, I miss this thread. I don't know if there is any good way to salvage it, but this thread was always a great resource to use. I hope it can come back. I think if it was updated (even twice a year) via a massive poll, or from some in house vote via mods or a select committee, that would be a good way to solve the updating issue.

Another set. another changes. Slacked on the Ixalin set update, but I did change a few things:

Vicious Shadows cut. Too expensive, never really worked out as a win con. Kaya, Ghost Assassin I LOVE this walker and her flavor... but her flicker isnt powerful enough, shes a bad enchantment. There were times that she slipped under the radar, but I should have power, not random happy accidents. Replaced with Grave Pact and Dictate of Ebebos. I needed more board control anyways, and honestly this deck plays like a bad (but fun) Meren deck anyways.

Added Arcane Adaption, and cut Ghostaway. Its a pretty odd swap, since Arcane Adaption makes my dudes scarecrows, so flickering is better, but in a vaccum Adaption is better, where as ghostaway, with this current build, is only good when I have out a tribal effecting enchantment. We don't have enough enter the battle field effects or GOOD scarecrows to make the deck's flicker work great. I'll revise that when we go back to shadowmoor and actually get good changelings and scarecrows...

Now the things on my eye for Rivals that came out is Twilight Prophet, Journey to Eternity // Atzal, Cave of Eternity, and Radiant Destiny.

Radiant Destiny doesn't make the cut, but I have a habit of picking up tribal cards that could should we ever go back to shadowmoor and scarecrows get buffed. As it stands... Reaper king is still best played as a good stuff deck, which brings us to prophet and Journey.

I doubt prophet is better than graveborn muse, which would be the natural swap. She draws on average 2 cards a turn, which is better than 1 and drain, but then again I havent read enough on prophet to know if shes just the new absurd card for black decks. Journey seems more like a good card, as it can go on reaper king to protect him, or something else for double the effects. A rainbow land never hurts, and neither does a recur effect that is mostly immune to dying in my friendly EDH group. But I'd love some input on these two cards, especially if anyone has played with em.

Hey, I'm rarely on the forums, I just wanted to see if people liked twilight prophet, but ran into this thread. I dont have a ton of time to go into a detailed response, but there are ways to abuse Reaper King you missed. Scarecrone being a huge one that works wonders in any artifact deck, plus also works here.

Scare crows also have two mana dorks you can abuse and make top decking not an issue because they'll vinicate, or you can recur them to have vindicate on sticks; Scuttlemutt and harvest.

If you want to spot any other neat tricks, check out my unofficial primer on Reaper King, since its my main deck which I update after a new sets release... aka what I'm doing right now :P. Its a theme deck, but there are some neat tricks in it.
