I think you could up the power level on this by swapping the P/T and doing something like giving this guy haste. It reminds me of Thalakos Seer.

I was thinking Surveilling Sprite, and we all know how much that shook up the format. Also, paying just to exile it seems silly without Trivaz, so why not add an effect to make this a red card too?

    Vaporexis :symu::symr:
    Creature - Weird
When Vaporexis leaves the battlefield, draw a card.
:2mana:, Exile Vaporexis: Vaporexis deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
    2/1

Not unfair compared to Electrolyze IMO.

That card is way too confusing, and I highly doubt submitting another legend is what the judges have in mind.

We should definitely have some kind of Weird, and it would be very nice if it exiled itself to combo with Trivaz. My idea:

    Vaporexis UR
    Creature - Weird
When Vaporexis leaves play, draw a card.
    2: Exile Vaporexis.
    1/2

@Trivaz: I wish he were more combolicious instead of just protective, but I should've been here when we were designing it to give input so my bad.

Technically, Gelectrode is already Trivaz's signature creature IMO. Too bad we can't submit that...

I would do Izzet stormbrewer as:

    Izzet Stormbrewer 1UR

When Izzet Stormbrewer enters the battlefield Flip a coin, if it comes up heads Izzet Stormbrewer deals 2 damage to target creature, and if it comes up tails target player draws two cards.

    1/1

And Lucknorris's card is waaaaaaaaaay OP

    Here's my card:

    Izzet Chronomancer IUR

As long as Izzet Chronomancer is in play, combat damage is on the stack

    2/2

    how's that? :p

Your cards have been made less overpowered...

Also, I think it's high time you become an apprentice.

    Can I join?
Also, I have no idea what's going on, but if it's an Izzet themed contest, here's my entry:
Yzzix, Heir to the Firemind 2RRUU
    Legenday Creature - Human Wizard
Whenever you draw a card, Yzzix, Heir to the Firemind deals 2 damage to target creature.
    2RU: Draw a card.
    2/2
"And that's why... Because... And I...Simply...Obviously."

Your card has also been fixed. And welcome to the test subject pool...

I can appreciate everyone designing cards for fun, but I'm pretty sure we haven't gotten any assignments for the contest to work on yet.

Barrium Trizzilwix is missing P/T and seems a little over-designed and overpowered even as a 1/1.

So i won game day with boss naya. That deck is so much fun to just pick up and play without testing. It was slightly less interesting then the 5k i did 2 weeks ago, however, as instead of playing 7 completely different decks, I played vs vampires 4 times, jund 3 times, and u/w control once. I lost to and drew with jund in the swiss, but beat it when it count in the top 4 so it's all good.

See: Any Niv-Mizzet EDH deck ever.
@Joboman: You mean to use? That's impossible. However people bring theirs to play in-between rounds.

To be fair, you could build a hundred singleton card deck and say a legend in it is your general while having it be standard legal. You just couldn't play by EDH rules.
    Quote from Gargroyal »
can anyone make a deck with at least one of every izzet card and still be good?

Considering how many ☺☺☺☺ty Izzet cards there are, unlikely. Also, some of those require building around them to be playable, and the other ones don't agree with the deck they want to be in.

Some people think Garruk's going to come back as a (B/G) planeswalker. How does this design look?

    Garruk Corrupted 2BG
    Planeswalker - Garruk
+1: Search your library for a creature card, reveal it, then shuffle your library and put that card on top of it.
-1: Each player sacrifices a creature.
-4: Exile all cards in target player's graveyard, then put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token onto the battlefield for each card exiled this way.

Welcome to the Izzet! Just take a look below to see what our members are posting, and if you feel like you want to get in on the conversation, you can easily join or become a friend!

    How to Join

Simply post in our thread. You will be inserted into the test subject pool, which is a sort of temporary membership. If you are inactive for more than a week without prior notice during this period your membership may be nullified. If after a month you have proven to be an active and contributing member to the clan (This should be easy.), you will be promoted to apprentice and become a real member of the clan.

    How to become a friend:
If you wish to be a friend, simply make a post (A reason would be nice too or you'll have to deal with an awful pun.) and you will be friendified.

    our MTGS Wiki page

    Our History:

On November 25, 2005, the Izzet clan was founded by the esteemed Masterbeeble with the allure of the new guild coming in Guildpact inspiring the imagination of many members of this forum. When the membership kept growing, it became clear that the U/R color combination was well loved by the MTG Salvation community. Oasis, Canada Man, and Wuffles all took their turns in leading the clan until just before Time Spiral came out.

On August 20, 2006, the clan came near death. Our most active members simply disappeared and the posting crawled to a minimum. Now that Ravnica was old news, the excitement just seemed gone. But thanks to our most dedicated members, the clan was able to return to greatness and holds a strong position to this day, earning Clan of the Year 2008 honors. Clearly, magic players love the allure of the colors blue and red.

Current Members (Preceded by the thread number of when they joined):

    This is thread number 28.

When someone expresses a desire to join the clan, they become a test subject. If they maintain active posting habits, they become an apprentice and gain voting privileges becoming a true member of the clan. Whenever someone becomes a member of the clan, that member starts as an Apprentice. In the future, if that member proves him or herself to be valuable, then that member may be promoted to the position of Acolyte when there is an opening, such as when another Acolyte leaves the clan or a new High Mage is promoted. Likewise, an Acolyte can be promoted to the rank of High Mage when either a current High Mage leaves the clan or there are too many members for the system to support without another High Mage. Each High Mage may have at most one Acolyte and one Apprentice.

Anyways, vote for the chain reaction one. Its badass.

Sorry man, test subject votes don't count; post more to become an apprentice, then we'll talk.

    Quote from Gargroyal
hey, what do you guys think of this ability i made:
All Embracing(As ~ is being played, any player may pay ~'s cost and pays :xmana:. That player puts into play a copy of ~ with Y equaling X)

the X represents a colorless cost that varies with the cards. each card that has it, has a Y cost in it and has a certain kind of counters numbering Y

This seems waaaaay too narrow and confusing, and probably weak too. Perhaps an example card would be in order?

Your suggestion has been added to the list Xanth. I also came up with one myself for a change.

@Ravus: I'm counting that as a vote for the chain reaction. Also, using the present banner rather than the work in progress one was what I was referring to, so it appears we're in agreement.

I got sidetracked from posting this earlier via being sick, so here's some thread titles to vote on:

@ Rocker: Trust me, there are other January '05ers out there who haven't even cracked 100 posts.

And don't forget the new thread :).

I find it very likely there will be a long period of time between when I get to 1k and when someone else as slow as me gets to 1k. I'd bet the people you talk about have left the forums entirely.

    New tier list:

    S
    - Jund

    A
    - Who cares?

    B
    - *crickets*

...Ok, it's not THAT bad, but you can see my distaste of T2 since Jund has been the proerbial menace everyone has been trying to take down.

I was never offered pulses at a reasonable price, so I've gotta stick with non jund decks for the mean time. My friend put it quite simply: Jund sucks because bad players can still win with it, unlike fae.

As for Stoneforge Mystic, I wiped out the final playset of them in my store for $16 total. I can't wait for Star City Gougers to jack her up into the stratosphere in the next few days :]

I've got my playset, and I only trade to bring them in, not out. Stoneforge is the stones.
