I am bringing back an old thread as I wanted to start a new one on this site, but figured it may be worth while to just revive the old.
This site seems to be dead.
I am looking for a new site that actually lets you browse vendors buylist rates. I wish so badly you could do this on TCG! But you cant, at least I dont know how.
Does anyone know of a site that will do this? Allmagiccards.com was amazing when working properly
Its from the Arcana, so you should wonder where the original post gets their quote from?
Maybe they uploaded a faulty arcana overnight and then changed it later.
Ahhh! Thanks! I cant go to the Arcana site at work. It is blocked.
If they will be showing up at half the rate, I have no issue with this. We will see a shock every 20 packs. That really wont dillute the market too much.
In terms of rares, you have (5/(53 + 0.11 * 15) ) is about a one in 11 chance to open a shock land in gatecrash or RTR. Im not sure if I calculated this correctly, assuming 5 shocks out of 53 rares, and adding to that rare number with 15 mythics, correcting for their increased rarity (factor 9).
Anyway, if I can assume all that, about one in 22 packs of DGM will have a shockland, so thats about 1.5 per booster box. Thats not a whole lot, to be fair.
Where are you getting that quote? That isnt the one in the initial post.
I would like more clarification on the rate at which we will see shocks in packs.
If I am reading what they are saying correctly, you will see a shock in the land slot once every ten packs. And with all ten shocks avail, that means you would need to crack 100 boosters to (assuming 100% equal distribution) get a full set of them.
I dont think this will be QUITE the flood of shocks of everyone is assuming. Naturally it will move the prices down. But, I dont know about to $3.
I actually really like this card. With double strike, and this getting counters through any and all combat damage, this will be a legit threat on the board and could end games.
Alright, let's be somewhat realistic. Jace ruined formats. Tibalt is underwhelming, but he's nowhere near the mistake level of Jace TMS.
Is Tibalt a super-powered planeswalker? No. He never saw, and will probably never see, serious constructed play. Neither did Venser (his +1 does nothing ... unless you use etb effects. Kinda like Tibalt's +1 does nothing ... unless you play with cards that abuse it). You can still make a somewhat fun to play set of decks including him,
Venser saw lots of play, and his +1 was very very powerful.
The card will be played a Lot, but some will play it better than others. Example:
You've gone in and dealt huge amounts of damage and gotten your opponent to 7 with your All-in Red before they Wrath'd the board. You cast the Devil and they are faced with a critical decision - Go to 3 life to get rid of your creature, or let a 2 turn clock hit the board. Most players will let it hit. If this is case you can follow it up with an Urabrask, the Hidden so both can swing. Red sometimes can play sneaky, not all big hulks should be dropped at once.
FYI - this situation is entirely irrelevent.
You said to do this after a board wipe? They have 7 life... how does playing these cards in any order matter?
If you drop your urabask or whatever hasty creature first, the result is the same.
They get with a haster, and either get hit with the Vexing Devil for 4 when it attacks, or 4 when they make you sac it.
There is zero diff in your scenario of "smart sneaky red players"
It was "good" but you got no inclination that the Maester w/Stannis was a massively important role in Stannis' life. That guy was like a father to him...
In general, it is all just incredibly rushed. I wish they could slow it down some
My assumption is that the time lapse is there so that Bane can have some time to develop, without having to have years pass on screen, if that makes sense. Else wise, Bane's rise, origin, scheming, and confrontation would probably be a trilogy.

Defiitely buggy. It drops an avg of 2 cards per pack
Anyone have a better draft sim?
Venser saw lots of play, and his +1 was very very powerful.
I guess for miracle to occur a current ability needs to resolve, eh?
I.e., you cant draw the card, cast it and then discard at random?
Currently finishing at over $10 on ebay. So for once SCG isnt ripping you off it seems. Expect their price to go up.

But still good
I pick 1st Simpsons Season 4-8. Not the series as a whole... just when Conan was writing.
So, since I did not pick the series as a whole, I will go with Mad Men. From the 1st episode of season 1 it has been damn near flawless.
