I just wanted to point this out, im sorry if it has been said before.
All the purple cards shown on the auction, whether or not they are real, have a timespiral logo for their set indicator. This makes me think that they will not be sold like battle royale sets as some else has posted. Also since they have the timespiral logo, that makes me assume they will be tournament legal, otherwise it would cause a lot of confusion.
these boards look pretty dead so i hope no one minds a necro, i was looking through the standard threads and i saw this deck and was immediatly intrigued. The only counterpost lists i have seen all ran 7-10 creatures which seemed too far off the principle of counterpost, anyways.. here is my updated list:
4 [RAV] Island (1)
4 [DIS] Hallowed Fountain
4 [DIS] Breeding Pool
4 [RAV] Temple Garden
3 [RAV] Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree
2 [BOK] Tendo Ice Bridge
2 [9E] Adarkar Wastes
1 [9E] Yavimaya Coast
// Sideboard
SB: 1 [DIS] Simic Sky Swallower
SB: 1 [SOK] Pithing Needle
SB: 4 [DIS] Azorius Guildmage
SB: 3 [BOK] Threads of Disloyalty
SB: 3 [DIS] Pride of the Clouds
SB: 3 [RAV] Faith's Fetters
Sorry, i am not yet familiar with how to do tags, so if someone could give me a quick tutorial that would be appreciated.
I basically took a previous poster's list and took out the swift silences for Rewinds and the mana leaks for rune snags. Does anyone else have additions from coldsnap or just new tech?
also, with sheets post rotation, if you have the mana to activate it, you are basically guarenteed (sp?) to draw a spell that turn, because you either remove a snow land from the top or dont draw off the sheets because a non-snow spell is on top.
yes, all i want is that text, but could you try to make it look idk.. interesting? lol, but yes red text against a black backgrould saying team drainbamaged
jiaozi, you missed the point of both of those people's quotes. the first one was saying that the matchup where is most powerful, against blue based counterspell control, they will possibly counter him before he resolves which means before his sorcery speed effect kicks in.
the other person was asking if you werea ttempting to play a tefari or owl and you got into a counterwar, do you go all in to attempt to keep it alive or let it die and save your counters.
my answer to that is if you have enough mana open for 2-3 counters, i would get in a war and make the last spell a remand targeting your owl, so you can keep your win condition, without giving them back a counter.
also, not playing it would be good here.
edit: that right there is a good justification for tefari, you can play hmi eot, get in a counter war, and remand him and play him during your turn and have him resolve. i want to just play him as a 3/4 beatstick at eot.
I was playing in a small tournament with a MUC snow build. I played 2 simic decks and cleaned them out, however I played a bg dredge deck with savras and stinkweed imps. I just got creamed, he keptbringing back the imps and so the only way I could block was via Cerulean Sphinx(otherwis my rimefeathers would die). I just couldn't counter it that many times. If Savra ever hit the board I was hooped as well.
Does anyone of any suggestions to stop this sort of thing? I have only one Moratorium Stone
well, for now, counterbalance with a hinder on top would do the trick. i am totally sol don contebalance until rotation, but im not sure how well this deck will fare with the likes of split second in the set. (side note: is morph counterable?)
whispers is jsut bad, if you want to take full advantage of the cheap cost you have to play it early, which means that the upkeep will quickly tie up resources, and if you play it late game, it can still do damage to you and confiscate would have been better.
my qualm with the factory (which i really want to include, dont get me wrong) is that ghost quarter is really nasty when they take out one of your 2-4 win conditions without you being able to counter. i hate owl, so i will proably play the factory regardless, but i have not yet decided whether ironfoot is a reliable backup win condition
