It's interesting, but is it better than The Immortal Sun? It's at least a good budget option. Seems absurd if you can cast it turn 3, but otherwise it's kind of a bad Lodestone Golem.
I actually think it’s great. The deck definitely has room for 2 6 drops or more if you have access to them in your board. This is where I’m headed with mine.
Odd, I think AA is by far the best build for 4 of the flex spots. AA increases my combo potential drastically. I do agree though that the new one isn’t where we want to be.
How are the BoPs working? Don't see many lists with them!
I’m liking them a lot as I have ways to utilize them late game without them just being dead draws. Leap has actually been really strong for me for grinding value out of the deck. Bop is actually one of the best plays I have t1 because I’m so heavy on 3’s.
Why didnt wizards print Modern Masters 2019?

They could sell modern staples at $10 per piece of paper
Now players complain and counterfeiters get a free season of printing Jace, Opal, Liliana, fetches and so on
I think horizons will bring them more money than another masters set easily. If even 2 new cards are staples in modern that’ll be enough to sell tons of packs as it’s the only way to get them.

Misty rainforest is showing a $5 drop on MtgGoldfish. I'm not that surprised, as that color combination doesn't see a ton of play in any format. I think it was an attempt to go "oh blue fetch, spike it."
I actually think it spiked because alliance was expected to make the colors more viable but it didn’t really bring anything into the format.
It certainly is. I went 3-1 last night losing to burn in a very close match where burn drew amazing and I stumbled on lands and still almost stabilized game 3. I beat Izzet Phoenix 2-0, tron 2-0, and the new sultia reclamation deck 2-1. I hate leyline as a 1 of and will likely swap it out for ravenous trap next time. I will also be adding 1 evolutionary leap to the main to help when chump blocking.
I think abzan has all the tools needed to slow the format. I played a version tonight heavier on pw card advantage type cards and no 1 mana discard cards and it felt great. It hates on gy’s really well. Hates on lands rather well and gums up aggro really well too. Going the walker route (I’m playing 7) with cards like tireless tracker grinds vs control too. The tools are out there you just need to build your deck for the meta. A deck like abzan also doesn’t tend to just lose to t3 random decks either.
Here’s an odd list I’ve been tweaking and playing. I feel discard spells are over rated currently and I’m wanting none creature threats more and more as I’m playing the format.
I really don’t think the red is hard to add at all and return has just been amazing! I went 4-1 today beating grixis shadow, green divotion, grixis titi (idk what else was with it because it wasn’t close) and hardened scales affinity. My lose was to an 8 rack brew and game three I couldn’t put race all the wrench minds.
I think the card you might really be missing is search for azcanta. It’s just so powerful in these decks when you want to dig for the cards you actually want not just more draws. Another odd choice I made was alhamerts archive and oh man is that card gas when it’s online! I t3’d wilderness and t4’d archive and I think that’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Im testing it more to see if it’s just win more but the fact that after you play it you untap with one of many spells that cantrip it just pays for itself extremely fast.
Problem is creeping tar pit is imo by far the best creature land to close out games. I think it’s hard to go wrong with any combination and a lot of it depends on your meta and how the matchups line up. I made small changes but I’ll post my list less messy in a second.
Edit: if On bant I wonder if a narset build is possible.
Every deck will like it imo. I feels like a better way to ensure less mulls to oblivion. People worry way too much about mulligans to certain cards, and I still feel like any decent players are going to keep keep able hands.
