So growth spiral seemed like a card that was pushing me into looking at sultai control again. I realize that might seem odd to many but just having 4 more cards at instant speed that cantrip and advance the board seems really good to me. My build is very different as you’ll see so I’m not running any hand disrupting. I fact I’m only even playing 3 1 cmc spells. I feel like this will save me a little life in an aggro meta as well as make my 4 etbt lands seem like 1 drops (also good with instant speed explore). This list will need a lot of testing still.
Noticed that Angrath, the flame chained has been increasing in price. Is there a new deck trying to use him in Modern? Or this is just because of Standard?

Exactly because people spend money to play these cards! Band are never the answer unless it’s in dire need. There’s a reason they go after cards that don’t wipe decks from the format (sorry twin they missed on you).
@autmn that Lavinia idea does nothing vs dredge, Phoenix, bolt, temper, lightening axe, goryos, TTB, and basically all other cards looting decks are using because they aren’t casting the creatures. Might stop h1 and angler.
No the fact that it loots is. The other cards brought up all discard before the draw. Looting power is that it draws then you select what you discard. Banning loot absolutely destroys 4+ decks in modern. The fact that so many in this very forum don’t see where power levels of cards are just shows how much b&r discussion is personal preference based rather than fact based imo.
We are quite consistently now being given tools that are applicable against a wide range of decks, and that 10, 10, 5, 5, 5, 5? Well 3 of those are going to be hit by the same hate/sideboard.
Can you do something about lands?
Can you do something about artifacts?
Can you do something about creatures?
Can you do something about enchantments?
If the answer to the above is no. Then the answer to this better be yes.

I play 3 scooze, 2 shambling vent, 4 knight, 2 courser, 2 varaska queens for my life gain package main board. This allows me to play 2 bitterblossom and 1 bloodfast too. I play trackers over bobs so the life gain doesn’t just even out but tends to pull me ahead. I’ve really been liking abzan however I’m on 0 lotv now with only 3 souls. I actually really like path right now because with trophy the downside has gotten much smaller. I feel push is less useful these days too. Few decks run that many basics so that helps with path. Not running lotv helps my mana base a lot too and I actually do run 2 canapoy. I realize my choices are odd but I feel like I’m able to have amazing sb plans verse almost everything.

And sfm unban will came with a reprint likely. You work it out the way you want and I’ll work it out the way I do. Are you implying if not for twitch, redit, and the likes I wouldn’t feel how I do?im not a bot I can think for myself and those are my thoughts on the matter no matter how you prefer to push yours.

This kind of pithy comment is all too common in the Twitch chat and Reddit age. It sounds good and garners upvotes, but it doesn't remotely describe what literally happened this year. See BBE and JTMS being unbanned when Modern was good and Standard was bad just to improve Modern more. When you have a literal counterexample to your allegation in the last 12 months, it's clearly an allegation that needs reworking.

You don’t want to show all your programs flaws at an event that big. Way too much can go wrong in arena imo. And certain phases of the game don’t even work on arena.
I see a lot of people talking about dealing with tyrant but I play just straight u/b and rarely ever have an issue with it. In fact g/b in general seems like a fairly easy matchup. I play a surveil list and almost always easily out grind them.
I play dimir serveil and I actually feel favored against most all decks mentioned there actually. Grixis is really tough but the rest are even or better I feel. I think it just doesn’t see much play for some reason.
