What's bothering me is that people who are defending her seem not to have read the article at all or even know on which website the article appeared. This wasn't some teenage girl complaining about the boy that asked her to prom on Tumblr or Facebook or personal blog; this was a supposed-journalist - a professional writer - producing a libelous article on a media blog.
This needs to be reiterated.
You can not like someone for whatever reason, but making a spectacle of it is in poor taste. Anything for a quick buck I guess.
What about Gitaxian Probe? Manaless cantrip.
I've used it to great effect in Standard Pyromancer, but I could also see it being quite usable in a storm deck.
People have been predicting, and waiting, for the Wasteland and Force of Will FTV/event deck/special product reprints for years. They haven't happened yet. Just because we have a new format that's going to see a lot of money cards in high volumes of play doesn't mean Wizards will step in and reprint everything.
Like I said, Bob will likely see a standard reprint in the near future, but I highly doubt we see the Mind Sculptor or Goyf in any special set anytime soon. They're too collectible.
Now, Modern will certainly be less expensive than Legacy simply because we'll be paying $150 - $250 on our landbase rather $400+. However, Modern will still be a big money format and much more expensive than Standard.
Yeah I don't forsee a Jace, The Mind Sculptor vs Tarmogoyf happening as much as I'd want it to.
Would be a great way to knock prices down a bit though. I've opted to go the route of using Reflecting Pool and City of Brass for my mana base, but it does limit my ability to play certain archtypes as I will always need to be extra careful with life.
reason im using leyline is for drake shenanigans and on the last few games ive tested it on the drake has basically given me the victory thx to him+capsize with line down
Then -2 Arcane Denial, -2 Aether Adept, -2 Venser, ShaperSavant, -2 Halimar Dept and + 8 Islands. That will put you at 24 lands. and you can still use your Drake tech. Venser is just another counter.
hi i just recently put together a casual mono blue deck and was wondering how to improve it what to take out and what to put in (trying to hit the 20 land mark at least also and maybe add Jace Beleren into the mix)
PS im trying to not use too many expensive cards due to not wanting to risk them at the places i play so plz dont post things like add force of will or mana drains i'm trying to not use any cards above the $40 (per card) if possible
I would -2 Arcane Denial, -3 Leyline of Anticipation, -2 Gilded Drake, and + 7 Islands. With that much counter spell I want to have all the blue I can get and 25 is where I feel comfortable playing control.
I guess Reflecting Pool and City of Brass are definitely in my list now.
And I do like the suggestion about the m10 lands, I just don't like that they don't have enemy color versions atm. I might just get the enemy color pain lands then.
Honestly, for any 2-color deck and most 3-color decks, The basic lands combined with 4-8 Terramophic Expanse and/or Evolving Wilds is usually just fine for mana fixing. Any more than that, and the Vivid lands are the best for your buck. Glimmervoid is another option is your deck is artifact heavy.
That makes me think that outside of reflecting pool I probaly would rather just have a Terramorphic Expanse over a Vivid since they are equally slow. And I'll think about glimmervoid, maybe with a set of artifact lands.

Planeshift "Lairs" ala Rith's Grove, imo are faster than the wedge lands (ala Jungle Shrine) as you can tap a land for mana, then bounce the tapped land back when you drop the Lair. [as opposed to dropping the wedgeland tapped.]

I've been sturggling recently with feeling limited in the scope of the decks I can build because of the lands that I own and don't own. It would be amazing to have the original Alpha duals, the Ravnica duals, and the both the oringinal and zendikar fetch lands. However that is just out of my budget.
I am thinking it would cheaper and most effective to put out a little money for lands that produce all colors.
So Grand Coliseum, City of Brass, Reflecting Pool, and Forbidden Orchard. A playset of any one of last 3 is ~$25. That is still cheaper than a play set of any of the Ravnica Duals or fetches, and I'd only need 1 vs 10 to get access to all colors. It still restricts game play through the downsides of each card.
My other idea was to try and get all the 10th Edition painlands and the vivid lands. That is also a fairly cheap way to go about, but the vivids are slow.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions your contribution would be greatly appriciated.
I think Gladecover Scout and Dungrove Elder would be good picks to put into an Aura deck. Aura Gnarlid is fairly devestating in a casual multiplayer, but I am not sure how well Auras would fair. It would be nice to see have some standard success though.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that you can also take advantage of architect yet... oh well... guess I'll just throw it out there. Architect does say all blue creatues. he's not just for merfolk, cuz every blue tribal needs another lord. not to mention cheat casting automaton.

That might be the perfect one to use for any multicolor aggro that I don't want to have cipt effect.

I am liking the Lairs suggestion.
I wish there was a full cycle of those cards.

Get some artifact lands and destroy people with Metalcraft.
Having Howling Mine and Font of Mythos outside of standard makes Molten Psyche much easier to get going.
I'll echo Prophetic Prisim though, getting color screwed is so much of a pain.
And metamorph if you use it.
