So would Karmic Justice trigger twice?

Off of the single hyena umbra, no. Because the card only sees one permanent being destroyed, so only one trigger will be created.

I agree that the OP's foil bob and goyf won't go down due to GP Vegas. Won't all of the cards played in GP Vegas be stamped? Or am I the only one who doesn't like stamped cards?

They only stamp the packs from day 2 and t8 when it is feasible and desirable to keep a much closer eye on the packs and cards that enter limited pools or draft pools.

It's just not feasible to open, stamp, and repackage 24000 packs worth of MM for day 1.

No. Using any outside references during the deckbuilding process. (Talking to neighbors, using your phone, referring to notes you've brought in) is strictly forbidden. At Comp REL, you'll probably get a game loss or worse.

"Hey, Judge, I heard that you can scoop to someone in the finals in exchange for prizes .. how does that work?"

From what I understand, wouldn't asking that question in front of an opponent, even if it is directly to a judge, be considered bribery or soliciting bribery, as you are basically laying out an offer to your opponent to materialistically reimburse you in exchange for a match result?

Eternal Cards, please. Even if you aren't going to use them, you can get a much better trade into fetches or cards that aren't going to value-crash and burn in the next few months.

I'd wait to get voices until they're under 40 again, and even then, I'd take a premium on eternal cards.

Suck it up, take the foil goyf, and pass the nonfoil one.

Everyone acts like it's such a big deal if they don't get to keep the nonfoil one. The nonfoil one is the difference between 300-400$ in benefit, and while 100$ is no small amount of money, everyone seems to ignore the fact that you're already 300$ up when you take the foil one.

If that 100$ is that big a deal to you that you're willing to drop from a draft and walk out of an LGS that fired an 8 man-pod with the understanding that you'd be playing in it, you shouldn't be doing 30-40$ drafts in the first place. You're screwing over three players who are now going to get byes,

You've already got the dream story of opening the lottery-winning pack. You've got 300$ more than you started the day with. Are magic players really that greedy and selfish that you'd be willing to compromise 7 other people's time and money for an extra 100$?

Also: Where does it end? If I open a pack with a goyf and a foil sword, do I get to keep that one too? How about Bob and foil elspeth? Limits have to be set somewhere.

I'm fairly certain that if you email wizards about this they can replace it with a non miscut one. I'm not totally sure so please don't kill me.

This is most likely true. However, they will ask you to mail in the miscuts that you want replaced, and they'll send you the replacements. Just so you can't keep getting free cryptics or whatnot.

    (I wouldn't recommend this)

As people have said, there are collectors who may pay more for this than a regular cryptic.

I'd be interested if you're looking to get rid of them/replace them with normal cards + a bit more.

You are basically paying 50-60 for voice depending on goyf value. I wouldn't do this; even if I needed the voice.

I would not trade a goyf for a voice unless I was getting a huge amount in my favor over market value.

While it is good, Voice is high on spec that it'll be good after innistrad rotates out, that, and it's about to take a value hit from playability in modern.

    How Suspicious...

Since when is Elspeth considered a crappy pull?

Since even if you got the box at retail (Which is highly unlikely at this point) It pays for less 1/7th of the box, and that's assuming you're able to sell the elspeth at Retail. Which you won't be able to.

One LGS close to me (a medium sized store) received over 500 promo Oozes. Thats insane. He told me that he received 3 Oozes for every 1 Xbox and 1 PS3 version, since there are 3 platforms for the Ooze version (iPad, Android, and Steam). 3 times as many Oozes as the other two promos!!

Dont buy into oozes now. Theyre gonna tank in the short term.

Im betting theyll drop to 3-4 dollars after the initial hype and preordering stage, with the promos severely dragging the price down. Itll probably take a long while for the price to start appreciating on these things.

Ooze's floor is 10$. It's a legacy staple, and let me tell you, it will be a modern staple and perhaps a standard one.

For modern, it puts a huge thorn in the following decks: Pod, Living End, Jund, anything that plays Lingering Souls, R/G Aggro, Junk.

And yes, theoretically ooze sucks in multiples, but here's the kicker, if you stick an ooze to the field, it's insane. It dominates the board, smashes goyfs, stops deathrites, etc. If they kill it, whee, you've got another one, if they don't, you're presenting a huge clock and threat to them.

So I'm getting three cases for 900 each (out the door, no tax). Which ends up at $150 a box, on the nose.

Now, if we expect the value under $200 to be a very strong buy, should I leverage this into selling the boxes for $250ish? Cracking them and selling singles? I got a screaming deal on the boxes and I'm torn on what to do with them.

I'd sit on at least two boxes. With four, you can crack em and sell them off, or sell them off sealed.

Personally, I'd just sit on the six, maybe open one for fun with the knowledge that even at 150, I might take a loss if my mythic pull sucks. The value that you can gain from cracking it isn't worth the loss that you might take. The most insane box (Goyf/Confidant Mythics + really good foil rare) Isn't much better than just selling the box for 250-300, and selling the sealed thing for 250-300 seems a lot easier.

If you get a crappy mythic pull (Dragon, Prog, Clique/Elspeth) Very few rare/foil pulls will get you out of that hole.

If you open a pool with money cards, you can drop before passing with no penalty, other than not being able to play in that event. Valid if you open up a foil tarmo or something, since there are plenty of side events.

Maybe you should get 3 byes and actually play the event to make day 2. Yeah, Foil tarmogoyf is a lot of money, but if I made the effort to go to Vegas or some other place and play in the main event, I'm going to play the main event rather than doing DGM draft which I could've done in my LGS instead of spending 200$ on travel and hotel.

IMO The money you gain from that foil goyf doesn't make up for the fact that you've just made 30-60% of your expensive weekend away pointless.

Never let anyone have a drink on the table within a 1-player radius of you. If they refuse, call a judge, or let them know that by leaving that drink on the table, they are taking responsibility for anything that happens. That should make them rethink having it there, and if not, you've given them fair warning.

Playmats will also mitigate the damage your cards take. Means that they have to spill directly on top of the mat in order for liquid to get to your cards. Even if they spill directly on top of it, a mat is more absorbent than a wooden or plastic gaming table, and will give you time to move things in case of a spill.

As people have said, RUG is a Legacy tuned deck. If you have 26 lands and creatures bigger than x/3, you'll be able to crush a deck that works on mana denial and cheap/efficient creatures.

On the flip side of the coin, most stock combo lists would run train on Standard. Dredge, Sneak and Show, most Storm/Tide variants would probably have a win percentage rate between 85-95% versus the current standard metagame
