So Spin Magazine has done an article on gay rappers, marking the first time an American mainstream music magazine has done such a profile. What do you guys think about that?
I read that article, seemed kind of interesting, but I haven't really heard of these guys outside of that article, and it seems like if they were really great rappers there would be some buzz about them, at least in the underground scene. I'll still probably check some of them out as I have way too much time on my hands.
Oh man I can't believe I missed this thread the first time. I love this show, probably one of my favorites on TV now. Somehow I went from never watching USA (mostly because I just soured on Monk and thought it got old really fast) to watching it religiously (also, Psych is great).
Oh man I completely forgot Leftwich... seems like there are a lot of possible solutions for the Vikes to get on track with a steady QB.
A new star receiver would be nice, but in all honesty Berrian gets a lot less credit than he deserves. He is one hell of a WR. If we could land someone physical like Boldin I could see the both of them shining, especially with D's having to worry about AP out of the backfield.
I am sure Vick will find a home, the draw of an athletic freak like Vick on the cheap will be to strong of a draw for some teams to pass up, and as pincushon said he has never really been a bad locker room influence. There are only two real downsides to brininging in Vick, one would be the bad PR, but winning tends to make people forget awfully fast. The other downside of signing Vick is that he is an awful QB, but some people seem not to care.
In all honesty, he is mediocre to bad at all things associated with a QB except for his superb ability to run and get yards on the ground. I just keep thinking about how much he would improve our QB situation up in Minnesota. I mean, he is no worse a QB then T. Jackson and then you add in the running ability and he's worth so much more than him.
I'm not saying that a team with a good QB should put some stock in him, but places like San Fran, Minnesota and the Jets could end up with much worse QB's then him.
I actually think Vick is going to be pretty drama free the rest of his career. I mean, I know everyone thinks he's gonna be a huge mess and whatever, but don't forget, this guy got his life basically completely ****ted on. I mean, he went bankrupt and went to jail. It's not like he's a TO type that causes massive drama and never seems to learn, this guy committed a crime and went to prison and served his sentence.
I would be inclined to agree with you right off the bat, but the Heat had literally no one that could even compete at the center position, and were just getting killed by anyone who would just pound the ball to their C or PF. If O'Neal plays a reasonable number of games I would say this was a good trade for them. And to be honest, Marion had really been playing some uninspired ball for them. I agree they would be better off with Amare, but who could they trade to get him?
As for the Raptors, this was just an all around upgrade for them. They have Bosh to play in the post so O'Neal was kind of redundant.
So what do you guys think about the Marion for J. O'neal trade? I think the Raptors got the better end of the deal, but both teams are probably better off for it. The heat desperately needed a legitimate center.
All I'm really hoping for this off season is for my Vikes to trade as many draft picks as it takes to get Cassel or sign Hasselbeck or really get any established QB.
Well, it must be official now. Read the article in yesterdays Detroit Free Press.
Next year, the Super Bowl is in Miami. The Pro-Bowl will be in the hosted Super Bowl city, the week prior to the Super Bowl. Thus, filling in that gap I spoke of b4. They did cite that any AFC/NFC champ players will not participate in it, unless they chose so. Which, they'd be stupid to.
So, expect a good deal of those Alternates to be the Pro Bowl starters next year.
I'm impressed with the Spurs for still being a dominant force even though all their key players are old. I'm impressed with Orlando because who saw that coming at the beginning of the season. I'm impressed with the C's for putting it back together. And this may be regional, but I'm impressed with the Nets for not being worse than the OKC Thunder.
I too am a Minnesota native transplanted to NJ. The Vikings are really the only team I carried over with me cuz I moved when I was young and football was the only sport I cared about at all as a kid. This season they were just easy to love, with the Williams Wall doing their usual complete domination and AP being the complete beast he is.
I know what you mean, I was very upset with the referee'ing and I feel it was very odd that they didn't take a look at the fumble. I'm not a fan of either team, but I really feel that Arizona had some terrible calls against them and should have won the game.
There really were no bad calls. If you watch from an objective standpoint every call made was a correct call.
It's not like the Ref's hadn't made mistakes in the game (HELLO two overturned calls in one game) I don't think it was a fumble either, but maybe he had lost posession as his hand was coming forward. (But the ball did move forward due to his hand)
The ball was pushed forward by his hand after he fumbled it. He no longer had possession, that was pretty clear.
And the 'running over the place holder' call was inane. He was tripping and ran into him - does accidental contact mean nothing? They didn't score a touchdown even with the new set opf downs, but the ref'ing today was a travesty.
Welcome to the NFL in 2009, accidental contact does mean nothing. They don't call on intent. They call on what actually happened.
Listen I agree the ref's called too many penalties, but they called too many penalties both ways. It was just an over ref'd game.
Now: Lyrical Gangbang- Dr Dre
Next: Notorious Thugs- Notorious BIG

Nice... no week off. That is gonna be so much better.

Finally something I can agree with.
