One of my favorite matchups has been my Isamaru deck vs my buddy's Karador. If he either ramped super hard or had the killspells to take out Isamaru 3 or 4 times he had it. Another good one is my Isamaru vs my other friend's Doran. We both aggro super hard, and playing with Doran's ability is always interesting. Turns out Eland Umbra is really good, lol.
My Nin deck would absolutely love seeing an opponent play that. Draw into my combos? Sure. Oh no, I'm going to deck myself? Good thing I have Laboratory Maniac as a win condition.
I <3 my Cromat deck. It actually uses the general (wincon is General Damage), and instead of stupid combos and goodstuffs it takes advantage of his "do anything" awesomeness with all of the Shadowmoore/Eventide hybrid auras (Shield of the Oversoul and the like), along with other solid auras and ways to fetch them up.
Pretty inexpensive mana base too, I use the 10 Pain lands, Command Tower, City of Brass, and pretty much the rest is basics. I'm just running quite a bit of mana ramp, especially colorless land search like Expedition Map, Armillary Sphere, Mycosynth Wellspring, ect so I don't have to worry about "Forest or I mulligan". I can usually cast Cromat by turn 5 or 6 at the latest, then drop and enchantment or 2 a turn with mana open for regen/bounce to my topdeck.
Winning. There's nothing more annoying than sitting around watching one guy play solitaire for 3+ turns. The only time I ever pull extra turn stuff is if I'm almost certain I can use them to end the game. And even then I use bad cards to do it, Krark's Thumb+Stitch in Time+a bunch of copy effects keeps it lulzy enough to not be boring for everyone else.
I've got 5 at the moment. Not sure if I want to build another one or not, I already don't play one of them that often (although that is mostly because it's designed for the few times I end up playing 1v1 EDH). I'll be surprised if there isn't a Legend in Ravnica that doesn't catch my interest though, so I'll probably end up with 6.
Ugh, I sincerely hope not. Drags out games waaaaay too much, if they printed it in something like this it would be like Sol Ring, every single EDH deck ever would have it. At least now not everyone has access to a Top for every EDH deck they have. I don't have any and I'm perfectly fine with that.
I zoomed in the art of Jace with Niv and can't see it... to me it is just the normal thingie Jace always had in his costume. Of course I can be wrong, my computer monitor is old and even in the highest brightness it is kinda dark.
Agreed, I couldn't make it out enough to be able to tell whether it really was part of the Izzet symbol, or just his usual belt accessory. I'd love an Izzet walker, but I'd prefer a new one. Jace doesn't seem chaotic enough to fit UR, if he was anything other than mono-blue I would peg him as UW.
I feel like this would be the way to go. You can get Worldfire in your graveyard with Faithless Looting. Then instead of casting it for 9, you cast it and Misthollow Griffin for 10. Bonus points if you just can just use Spelltwine because your opponent has a burn spell or token producer in their graveyard (since you can order the spells). Only awkward thing would be if they didn't have an instant or sorcery, but by the time you can get 6-10 mana the odds of that seem relatively low.
Rite of Replication is pretty guilty of this. I can't count how many games I've won with that card. Mostly because of other people's overplayed creatures. Primeval, Rune-scarred, C-Sphinx, and Chancellor of the Forge all make great targets. Especially when you can Reiterate it.
Tooth and Nail is also a bad one. Buddy of mine made a Wort deck around fire-balling people for large amounts. Then he realized he could ramp into T&N copied to grab Urabrask, Avenger of Zendikar, Prime Time, and Chancellor of the Forge. Worst part is he has another copy in his binder that he refuses to trade to anyone because he doesn't want it played against him -_-
Holy crap, the pure amount of whining in this thread is ridiculous. Seriously? Really guys? I mean come on. I would actually agree with a few of the points people have made if they weren't made in between "Well if someone makes a giant mana investment with 5 different cards how can I deal with it besides counter?" and "QQ counter is so OP blue has always been the favored child". God, both sides of this argument are just pulling a massive Chicken Little. "Blue has good creatures now, it's gonna be overpowered and ruin the game because it has good creatures AND counterspells". "They're not reprinting Mana Leak, Cavern of Souls exists, counterspells are useless and it's going to ruin the game". Everyone just needs to take a chill pill, and calm down.
I ended up in 12th at 4-2. I didn't pull any money cards or any bombs really. I had to really work for it. I'll tell you that AVR Red is amazing though. In Limited, Falkenrath Exterminator is easily one of the best possible cards. He takes over a game so fast. Also, Zealous Conscripts is outrageously underrated. As long as you play him right, he instantly wins any game in which he resolves. Last night at approximately 2:30 AM EST I got to live the dream. I activated the ultimate on a Tamiyo, the Moon Sage that was not mine.
Oh my God, now I'm going to want to run red if I pull this guy just for the chance that this could happen. And I'll probably have no other playable red cards, lol.

Dang, now I want to make this deck...
