So did anyone else who read The Cursed Blade article see this and immediately think of the Bloodletter, or was it just me? A Planeswalker that can tap into the powers of artifacts, heading to a plane where quite a few major characters are fighting over a cursed sword that makes humans bleed eternally and vanquishes non-humans. I like it.
A buddy of mine has a deck with this guy and Laboratory Maniac. His strategy is getting 1 Phantasm onto the field, with his other 2 either in the bin or in his hand. Then he copies the Phantasm with Phyrexian Metamorph and uses the ability to mill himself out. It's only worked once when he used it in response to his draw ability, but it's a fun deck.
@Longshanks, look on the back of the box... what was the alpha-numeric code above the bar code? Your box seems to skew pretty far from the normal tracks.

Because you'll totally open up 36 Time Reversals if you buy a box.
Challenge Accepted.
I'm more than a little surprised to see this back, but there are plenty of cards that warrant me buying a box. Heck, I wouldn't be mad if I pulled 1, just because I like the art. Could be fun with Psycrosis Crawler and Chandra 3.0. Definitely casual, but fun.
I "I can copy creatures using any of the Riku's skills if I play them by their cycle cost?
if not, why the deck had creatures with cycle? only because Animar?
(Sorry for my english)
That deck is ridiculous on mana. 41 lands, 4 mana artifacts, 4 creatures with landcycling, 3 or 4 mana creatures, 3 or 4 mana ramp spells. I'm probably going to end up taking out 6 lands for more goodies.
He'd be fun with the Kamigawa Dragons, Keiga, the Tide Star would be particularly mean. Cast, make token copy, they both die to legend rule, steal two creatures! At least until Homeward Path ruins it.
I'm going for 1. Mirror Mastery, then 2. Political Puppets, because there are some pretty sweet R and U cards in Puppets I can use to fill out and improve Mastery.
Some mill strategies do not put in the graveyard such as Oona, Queen of the Fae. Also if you are playing mill you can use something like Relic of Progenitus in response to the trigger or Stifle to keep the eldrazi in the yard.
I love the double-standards that are going on here. When people post answers to Homeward Path, the response was "We're not saying there aren't answers, we're saying there's nothing else that hoses and entire archetype with no commitment". Then when someone posts an example of that exact thing, you post answers to it like that makes some kind of difference.
This guy is way too cool. When the decks were first announced 4 of my buddies and I decided that we'd each buy 1 of the decks. Initially I wanted the RWU one, but my friend called dibs so I picked RUG. After seeing Riku, I couldn't be happier that he caused me to go Mirror Mastery.

Both on the reserved list, lol.
