Seems very likely, even before the article mentioned the name Ugin, I was thinking what other powerful dragon is there. I wouldn't be surprised if Ugin shows up in the last set when we travel back in time to an age where Urgin is still young and hasn't dealt with the eldrazi yet.
Seems very likely Blood will be the return to ravnica.
Um... I was under the impression it is the middle set that takes place back in time, and the last set is one that takes place in a changed present.
Not sure, I was under the impression the time travel was back of the last block but now that you mention it. Hmmm also has anyone been watching the latest Fairy Tail Anime ?

They're not champions. That's just the name of the achievement associated with the art.
Of course they are not just like how the Ravnica Champions artwork was just the name of the achievement and totally wasn't the guild champions like Emmara Tandris from the selesnya guild.
Where can I find the actual storylines? Like, the Wizards site just tells me bios and locale stuff, but I want to see the storyline, other than fingering through the card flavor-text and guessing. Where am I missing this?!
Check the Wiki at the top of this page.
It *is* just a Wiki, but most of the people who edit it really know their story details.
In addition the wiki contains links to the articles that follow the Planeswalkers stories. However a lot of the story also comes from the digital novel which in the Theros planeswalker sense is Godsend.
-Science vs Relgion (maybe a bit to controversial)
-Gods vs Mortals might be a cool theme
Planeswalker wise
-Dack Fayden vs Ashiok
-Tamiyo vs Nissa Revane
I also would like to maybe see Duet decks, I know wizard did the joke Gideon & Liliana which was designed for 2-headed dragon. Might be nice to see more of those, though I guess clash packs are kinda like that.
Elspeth has already had an appearance in a dual deck product, despite being an obvious match-up to Xenagos, let someone else shine IMO.
Xenagos seems like a shoe-in for one list, and I would hope Kiora for the other list because of her popularity and very similar price range compared to Xenagos.
For bonus points, Kiora trash's Xenagos in power level, because simic. lol. However overall both decks will barely cover the cost of the product itself, and have a relatively low power level compared to dual decks of past.
Typically, for Planeswalker duel decks the planeswalkers add up to around $20 and then the rest of the deck is another $20(at time of printing the product), such was the case with Sorin Vs Tibalt and Jace vs Vraska. So take your pick I guess
I like the whole Kiora vs Exengos, Wizard could write up a little story about the one trying to become a god while the other being mistaken for one. You know I can imagine how Jealous a person trying to become a god would be of a person being already treated at one.
Its coming up to that time of the year where we as the magic community extraordinary, try to guess what the next planeswalkers will be for the coming April or so Duel Deck. The announcement is generally between now and the October.
As always we already know it will be last years set so Theros.
So this might be the first duel deck since Ajani vs Bolas where there has actually been some sort of conflict. So the safe bet would be Elspeth vs Xenagos.
Personally I am hoping on Kiora (Merfolk Waifu :3 ) vs Ashiok, mostly cause I really want to see the gap for a G/U deck filled.
Last Year, was a pretty bad attempt at correctly guessing the right pairing. Can we guess right this time.
(Also bonus points if you guess, the decks power level, I.E amazing like Jace vs Chandra or next to garbage like Venser vs Koth)
Edit: I did a mock up of a possible Kiora Theme Deck, see my signature for the link.
Am I the only one that finds it odd that they'd pick a 3UUU legend to be the face of a three color deck? I mean, with no background information on Khans and coming upon this deck in a store, I'd have assumed that Zurgo, Helmsmasher was heading a RWB deck, and Arcanis the Omnipotent was heading a primarily blue deck, with maybe one other color. I could totally be wrong on that, of course.
There is a very limited number of cool, outstanding and wanted legendary cards that work off the U / UWR color schemes.
Jedit Ojanen is cool but doesn't portray cunning and really isn't mythic worthy. Keiga, the Tide Star is mythical and is usable in EDH but its style is tied in to heavily into the kawigawa block(also the whole lol dragon deadz khan rulez). Even Zedruu the Greathearted while having the right color scheme, it requires a certain style of deck to be built around and isn't really a portrayal of cunning.
That being said I would not worry about it to much, similar to how we saw Anax and Cymede in the Heros deck I am sure we will still get some sort of UWR legendary creature in the cunning deck
Hopefully they'll fix this with a Kiora deck in the next one.
But the next duel decks just have to be Elspeth vs Xenagos! It's the first time in many years that there's an actual planeswalker conflict in the storyline of a block, so they really could use it instead of making one up like lately with Venser vs Koth, Sorin vs Tibalt or Jace vs Vraska.
True, but I doubt after just doing Jace vs Vraska that Wizards wants to do another duel deck featuring a character that already had a DD. Kiora vs Ashiok could work in the sense of one trying to create their own god and being jealous cause the other one is simply being perceived as one. Kiora has been a character that most players enjoy ever since her digital game debut so it would be silly of Wizards to miss a chance to print her with Alt Art <3
Also allows wizards to fill the GU and BU gaps that have been missing in the product line.
(Besides do you want boring Mono W Elspeth or do you want to wait the the WB Elspeth that has returned from the grave )
Maybe Wizards should rename this product to From the Vault: Duel Decks, this seems more a collectors item than the so called playable item they made it out to be at SDCC.
Half these decks are being sold for more than $30 now , $25 for each is not much and i think people are just complaining cause it is a box of all 4 and soo the price is $100, if they selled those decks (2 and their box) for $25 each , i think people wouldn t complain...
They wouldn't cause then players could pick and chose which ones they prefer to get.
The reason these decks are being sold is cause they had extremely tiny print runs, Wizards never intended for them to be as popular as they are. DvD gets sold at extreme prices because of 2 cards only. The whole reason for this product was to make these decks available to player who never got a chance to get them in the first place yet with a price point of $100 wizards is treating this more as a From the Vault Duel Deck Series.
A general rule for sales is the more of it you sell the cheaper it gets.
For example Buy 1 burger for $2.5 or buy 4 for $8.00
I'm curious; for those of you who expected it to be less: what price were you expecting? What price would you prefer?
(I was expecting it to be $100, but hoping it'd be $80).
Optimistically speaking I was expecting $60
Realistically speaking I was expecting $80. Why? Cause 4x20=80
The $20 extra makes no sense, especially since this whole thing at least following the SDCC presentation was that this was aimed not at collectors but at people who never got a chance to get these duel decks because they came into magic to late. Also the originally duel decks had an extremely limited print run compared to the newer ones.
This price might be a deterrent to stores to not price gorge.
I expect for the $100 price for there to be at least 4 spin down counters each with the different duel deck symbols on them, an extremely nice fat box style holder, the original deck boxes and possibly even larger copies of each planeswaker to use as plane chase commanders.
Else I will just buy the singles after this comes out since I don't even need GvL.
Maybe as a consumer I am being greedy but charging $100 for what is at its core a 4-8 player experience with a minor selection of a few decent cards cause I don't think anyone will buy this deck for 3x Goblin Cohort or the 2x Dusk Imp
Not sure, I was under the impression the time travel was back of the last block but now that you mention it. Hmmm also has anyone been watching the latest Fairy Tail Anime ?

Your choices are
-Ajani, Mentor of Heroes 3GW
-Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver 1UB

-Xenagos, the Reveler 2RG

$80 would of been realistic.
$60 would of been a bit to cheap really.
But I suppose the High retail means stores wont jack up the prices really.
I really hope the deck these things come in is nice and usable, especially since I will have to get 4 for my collection :/
