  • posted a message on End of the turn clause?
"Until end of turn", like in Act of Treason, means that the effect ends during the Cleanup step, which is the same step that damage is removed and that players discard down to their max hand size.
Yes, this is after the actual End Step

    All creatures will enter simultaneously.
The card simply instructs you to place them on the battlefield, and does not specify an order of any kind, so they are all simultaneous.

But; all players will make the choice in turn order, starting with you. So you will choose before the player after you does, and all the players will know what the players before them are choosing

How can we exchange something that we don't have anymore lol?

Exactly. That's why if both pieces of an exchange are not present, nothing happens

Since there are only 31 attacking goblins in total, and each attacking goblin only gets the buff from each other creature that shares a type with it, the boost would only be +30/+0

i have another question since the angel dies and doesnt get the +1/+1 what about this situation that i have seen in real life,
i have a 1/1 creature and my opponent has a 4/1 and he attack and i block with my 1/1 and i play test of faith before pasting priority and the judge said that the 1/1 lives. so was the judge wrong and it was suppose to die like the angel would or was he right.

Now this situation is slightly different.
With Test of Faith, you are preventing the damage and adding the counters at the same time, instead of after damage like the angel. So it does live. For something to reference, here's a relevant Gatherer Ruling:

12/1/2004: The +1/+1 counters are put onto the creature at the same time the damage is prevented. If a 1/1 creature would be dealt 6 damage, 3 damage is prevented and three +1/+1 counters are put on the creature. The creature ends up as a 4/4 creature with 3 damage marked on it.

    No, the trigger still happens.
The angel dies just before the trigger goes on the stack, but since abilities exist independent of their sources nothing is stopping the trigger from resolving.

Unfortunately, even though lifelink happens at the same time as damage, her trigger uses the stack and doesn't happen until after damage is dealt.
So even before her trigger goes on the stack, the game sees she has lethal damage and destroys her.

Her trigger will still resolve as normal though, and all your remaining guys will get +1/+1 counters, as triggers exist independent of their source

Is anyone else having trouble getting to the new MTR and IPG?
Whenever I go to the new ones, it opens up the page they should be on, but the PDF is the old version.

  • posted a message on Lifeline + Mimic Vat [Solved]
The Vat will trigger for each creature, and yes you may choose to exile each one in turn, cycling them all through the Vat.
And since they left the GY and reentered, Lifeline doesn't track them when they go to Exile, so it won't return any creatures cycled through the vat.

What happens if Edric, Spymaster of Trest and two other creatures attack and Edric gets blocked and dies but tht other two go through?

If you activate Myojin of Life's Web ability and put Kozilek, Butcher of Thruth and Prime Speaker Zegana onto the battlefield, how many counters does Zegana get?

1.) All combat damage is dealt simultaneously, so edric will 'see' your other two creatures deal combat damage to your opponent, and will trigger twice. So you'll draw two cards.

2.) 8 counters. Since Zegana's ability is a replacement effect and not a triggered ability, Kozilek isn't on the battlefield for her to see and enter with the appropriate amount of counters.
So, unless you have a larger creature, she'll see the 8/8 Myojin and get 8 counters

    Quote from Warp
Could someone enlighten me about this rule? Is it a new rule numbered 117.8c, or is it a change to a previously-existing rule 117.8c? Because when I search for that rule, it says:

"Additional costs don’t change a spell’s mana cost, only what its controller has to pay to cast it. Spells and abilities that ask for that spell’s mana cost still see the original value."

I don't see how this establishes the new ruling for mandatory additional costs requiring revealing hidden information.

You're still looking at the old CR

I don't know the fact you can pay it but can chose not to. Seems the rule was not thought out.

It would be a terrible idea to force a player to reveal hidden information like the contents of their hand.
It's the same principle as not forcing a player to reveal their entire deck to prove they don't have a basic for Evolving Wilds

Yes, it works exactly like that.
Is there a reason you thought it wouldn't?

If I have a Bob, and for his trigger I reveal a Turn//Burn, his trigger then asks "what's your CMC?"
    Turn//Burn answers "2 and 3"
SO the trigger makes you lose 2 and 3 life, so a total of 5 life lost

    Your friend is actually right.
After combat damage is dealt, the game checks state based actions.
It'll see the Angel with lethal damage, and it'll see you with 0 life.
At the same time, you will lose the game and the angel will be destroyed.
Now, normallt SBA will be checked again after to see if any new events need to happen, but the game ends as soon as you lose, so the end result is you losing and your opponent winning.
