also isnt Spirit wasted if you have Abyss? i cant see going up against creature strategies without it
That's a good question; which triggers first? The Abyss or Nether Spirit coming back, hmmmm.
Edit: Also, "thanking" system thingy on the forum is kinda nifty. Kinda like rep. Sorta. But less obnoxious. haha

with Archwing dragon, this and Chandra's Phoenix, red has a very strong curve that could tip the scales a bit in their favor, but it doesnt look like an aggro deck, the cmcs are too high. feels more like aggressive/evasive midrange control
i like when cards are fair but strong, now if only we could get those hooligans in the UW gang to behave, this neighborhood would be a fine place to live

agree with this.
I watched the LoamPox video posted by someone at the top/mid of the page, and the deck is trying to do too many things. He is running Nether Spirit which I don't agree with (i know alot of ppl run it) because the first one you get in always gets StP'd and he was also running Entomb to find dredge tools...why are you bothering to do all that when you could just nuke lands and kill everything with a much safer mana base?
He lost game one because 4 out of 7 lands produced colorless mana and his Urborg was Wastelanded.
Someone said it earlier, swamp is your best card. The ReidPox build is strong and I have based my version off it's success which everyone here should do as well. I like to try new things and brews and whatnot because its fun but if you're trying to be competitive dont be creative, be smart.

other than that I think the best stuff in each color has already been seen, so that being said, I think Black got a number of fantastic tools it desperately needed for midrange and aggro control, so black looks great right now, especially with a new PW possibly at the 4 slot, a place held for PWs that are almost always playable in t2
red looks to be sorely lacking thus far, no surprises there
blue looks good but not incredible
white looks powerful especially with infect leaving and the not so subtle Lifegain theme, my zombies have an uphill battle once again, a task they will no doubt rise to
green looks pretty strong in limited. prey upon is pretty strong and now they have 4/4 vigilance reach, a 3/3 hexproof, and more just good stuff.
one thing im noticing is the mono color emphasis: Arbor Elf, Murder, Sunstriker, Phoenix, there's more i cant remember.
strange how Ravnica is coming out, a set that would logically have multicolor strategies built into it, and the Core Set is mono color based.
i wonder what the duals will look like unless they're just the same old same old
