The MUs could be in spoilers to help navigate through it, or you would make each stand out by bolding/color change each MU title and then double space between it and the next MU paragraph. There's just a wall of text, and while there are paragraphs and some double spacing, it's not enough. Sorry for the bad advice.

I have played against Tron, but with my Burn deck, not with this one. I won't be able to help with this. I have only played with this deck once and it was only against a home brew, so it doesn't really count. -

A few things I would change:
The second sentence in section 2 has "cards cards." Might want to fix that typo.
I would also say what amounts of each card to be considered for the deck, I.E. 2-4 Hero of Bladehold. Do not include any budget suggestions. Budget suggestions should be addressed as "we do not address budgeting" either verbally or just by not mentioning it. Allowing this can throw the deck thread of course. There's a budget forum for a reason. Though I know this is annoying having to point people into it's direction, it derails the fundamentals. In the MUs section, please include Burn, UWR Midrange, Gr Tron, all versions of Twin, UR Storm, and the mirror. Less "spoilers." I know it makes the thread nice and clean, but having to click on every single piece of the primer to read gets tiresome. Remove Zealous Persecution from the pictures at the top and maybe replace it with an actual core card. Having it there makes readers believe it's a core card when it's not. -

Cards I can suggest in it's place is a Ground Seal against mine and MJ's deck, as RIP number 2. Rout is another card that should be of some great service. Mobilization, Angel of Serenity, Argivian Find, Breath of Life, Faith's Reward, Eternal Witness, Karmic Guide, Reveillark, Life From the Loam, Nature's Spiral, Regrowth, Restock, Reya Dawnbringer, Ritual of Restoration, Stonecloaker, Primordial Hulk, and Aven Mindcensor are cards I think you should look into. Most are cheap cards. -

I tried Think Twice and Ponder just works better for my deck, which is a lot like combo decks. I recently cut Batterskull from my deck and replaced it with another Despise. I'm still at a decent artifact count and I now have another way to see what's in hand and proceed accordingly while removing threats like Prime Titan, Thrun, Hero of Bladehold, and Mirran Crusader before getting out of hand (another pun!).
I will be trying to fit in 1-2 Nihil Spellbomb, to battle UB and Solar Flare. Maybe 3, but I still am not sure what I need to remove for it. I know Wurmcoil would be a decent choice along with the 3rd Torpor Orb. Hex Parasite helps me combat PWs, so I can't remove him or make him a singleton.

I have space for another sideboard option. I took out mox opal because really, there is no substitute for land. I do like Metamorph, but he's just becoming a dead card in my hand against aggro. Maybe when control comes back he'll be better, but as it stands, he's coming out and being replaced by Solemn and spellskite.
I am iffy on ratchet bomb. It's great against Tempered Steel and RDWs, but I don't have that in my play group. I'm thinking of replacing it with 1 consume the meek and black sun's zenith. More testing needs to be done.
I've dropped karn once, and only had him twice in my hand since I've put him in. One was with the Mox build that was terrible, and one without Mox and I actually dropped him. He was a bit of a win-more card, but we'll see how it goes. If he doesn't work out, I may replace him with Consecrated Sphinx. I look forward to the day I can actually trade for one. -

With all of the Caw Blades and Aggro, upping up to 3 DoJ and one in the side should be better. Also, adding a batterskull, or dropping a Titan for Wurmcoil would help in that MU as well. Mimic Vat is pretty weak and shouldn't be played in competitive decks. There's your 2 spots for another Department of Justice and another O-Ring.
I think the deck needs a bit more spot removal too, bringing it to a total of 5, and I don't know what you're trying to do with 2 swords. Swords mostly belong in a midrange deck, and this is definitely not a midrange deck.
Also, have you noticed the missing synergy between Venser and Phantasmal Image?
Ratchet bomb is a bad card, unless you have a way to control it's counters through proliferation and Hex Parasite.
Your counter suite needs work as well, as mana leak is only good early and mid game, and terribad late game so I would at least pick up 1 Cancel or Stoic Rebuttal. The ones in your side, you want 4 Missteps because the MU you want them in, you want it in your opening hand or early in the game. -

Still missing a few things.
A few tweaks I have done to the deck for now. I need a larger play group to figure out how the deck does all around. So far, I'm only playing against Eldrazi Ramp and Knights. Knights is a fair match up and definitely beatable, and Eldrazi Ramp isn't this undefeatable evil thing anymore.
I sorta want to move this deck into a more control environment, but then I will lost my match ups against aggro, which is what the meta is evolving into. I need to rethink how I want to tackle this thing.
The brew I'm thinking of is something like this:
This is a skeleton of what I want to do. Big Wurm, Sphinx, and Vault skirge with equipment are my win-cons, and Karn and Tezz's ultimate is my alternate.
Playing around with numbers on counterspells, draw, kill, and discard. I think I will keep 2 IoK, 2 Despise, 4 preordain. Why fix something that isn't broken?
As for countermagic, I'm leaving it out completely in the main. For now. I really like seeing kill spells so I've upped it to 4 total into a 2:2 ratio of GFtT:Doomblade.
The loss of Metamorph might be huge, and I may end up including him and dropping spellskite. Metamorph answers. It answers alot. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'm leaning towards this on Scar. His ability allows us to shrink fat creatures to slow opponent's clocks for us to get there, but our damage spells are mostly for faces and who knows if this will survive given that they can kill it in response. I would see this as a sideboard card in Legacy more than mainboard if at all. Modern might have a place for it because of Kitchen Finks.
Can't get that through with the Counterbalance lock in place.
Exquisite Firecraft is an answer the deck already runs, but it's that he's a clock, answers three drops with Counterbalance, AND stops Eidolon triggers on top of creating an emblem the same turn he comes down. Turn three stabilization is a real threat here now.
The more this game lives on, the more I get irritated with WotC. I just might leave this game forever now. My favorite deck in the only format I play is hard pressed thanks to this, and it's not even powerful enough to have a ban on Legacy. GG
