Create a fun multiplayer deck, that can become a decent duel deck with only a few minor substitutions.
Aside: My Definition of a Fun Deck:
A deck that I enjoy playing, that others enjoy playing against (So keep the Stax under control, and focus more on creatures that are impossible to kill). I like synergies and combos, but not infinite combos. More cool little interactions and rules quirks than omfgmindlslaverlockrrr.
I enjoy decks with: Big Creatures and massive Token Swarms, fortunately, Green and Black both deliver.
I want to explore a deck with lots of Sac and Recur effects. Re-using my creatures as many times as needed to thwart the many board wipes prevalent in Commander games.
Lots of ETB and LTB effects, Sacrifice outlets, recursion, Reanimator effects to sneak fatties out early, etc.
Gameplan: Lock the board down with multiple grave pact effects, and other removal. Dump large creatures into the GY and reanimate to start chipping away at opponents health, or build up a large token army and overrun for the win. Overwhelming Stampede is rather nasty with a single Doomgape and a swarm of 1/1's.
So:
Others:
Don't be obtuse. There are obviously Limited and power level considerations when assigning rarity to a card, in addition to their policy of preferring Planeswalker interaction cards at rare and higher.
Edit: Scry only on your turn is a little harsh considering the mana cost.
Those two are a couple of experiments. Biskelion is an attempt to headge against Edric and Derevi decks. Getting to pick off x/1s is ok, and I wanted to increase my artifact creature count. Artisan is my main win condition. Once I've drawn my deck I need a way to actually kill and Artisan is the best method I'd found. It's a creature so if I draw it early I can use it to tutor.
Try to set up layers of hate. They have the tools to deal will all of our answers, so you have to make them fight through different effects. Path or Linvala or Spellskite etc might not do it alone, but when combined the make a substantial barrier. Remember, you only need to slow them down so you can win first.
How does a game with Teeg typically work? I prevents you from casting both Pod and Chord and only stops Karn.
Playing Shrivel in a white Aggro deck is awful. You have as many x/1's as they do.
I actually have the reaction you talk about when I see Intution in Legacy. Holy crap, you can grab 3 of the SAME THING!? How is that not banned?
To be fair, they've addressed Zur in the most wishy-washy ways possible. There have been too many bannings of enabler cards and two few of the actual problem cards.
Aggro (RDW, Zoo)
Midrange (The Rock, Jund)
Control (Caw-Blade, Draw-Go)
Combo/Ramp (Valakut, Stax, Storm, etc)
And Disruptive Aggro (Delver, Faeries)
Holy crap, I did not realize it worked like that. Wizards went out of their way to make all the other curses not scale like that so I assumed Predation was just a Gavony Township every combat. This is insane.
Edit: Does not work the way I thought it does. Still decent though.
Yes it does.
