I'm not so much asking for specific characters as much as I need examples of how a "hero" in those colors might act like. Because as I said before, most of the trouble I have had has been because these colors are not herioc in the usual sense. They're usually the enemy (even though I know it's possible in the other colors, it doesn't happen very often). Grixis has been by far the most challenging since it screams evil, or maybe that's just me.

I'm also kicking around the idea of a Mono Black hero, something like selfishly unselfish or what not.

Grixis doesn't scream "evil" if you know what to look for. Blue at it's best is reasonable and progressive, Black at it's best is morally relativistic, self-assured and honest, Red at it's best is empathetic, loyal and loving.

Do as you will with that.

Sounds like Jeff Winger from Community.

Why is everyone speculating about this? There is nothing in Maro's post that suggests a big change to the evergreen mechanics is incoming. He's just saying that evergreen's /can/ change. After all, we just had a minor change with Indestructible and Unblockable and a larger change with Fight and Hexproof/Shroud.

Jund will take a hit that's for sure, but Waste Not is right around the corner. I truly fear what will happen when my thoughseizes draw me cards and make creatures...

You won't have to worry about it because Jund won't play that card.

I wish this was Serum Visions, but oh well. Best art for this card so far so I can't complain.

Why would it be for Serum Visions? That's a bit like expecting Counsel of the Soratami...

Phyrexian Arena is better than Pain Seer, since it doesn't have to attack/be tapped, can't be easily removed, and it can be run in control.

Pain Seer will never kill you...

Imagine RDW or Big Red drawing extra cards every turn.

Oddly enough, it's the Falter in her +1 that wins more games. But drawing cards is still very, very good.

Why are people not playing Lifebane? That card is too good not to play 4 of.

It's good against decks that RWB is already good against. There are no Thragtusks or Restoration Angels or Huntmasters anymore. The best white and green creatures don't generate tons of value just by hitting the battlefield, they are just efficient beaters and removal is perfectly fine against them.

Also, Thoughtseize is just a generally better card for dealing with cards we don't want to see cast.

    Bonus PSA about Desecration Demon.

Run 4 or run none. Run him with Anger of the Gods or don't run him at all. There is a reason every Rock deck ran 4 of him with literally no exceptions. There is a reason he first showed his power in decks built around Mutilate. An aggro deck can often ignore a lone demon with no support. But an aggro deck can't pay for 2 demons and expect to put up much of a clock. It can't expect to pay for any demons after a wrath. Desecration Demon gets better and better the more copies you play. He gets better and better the more removal you play. He gets even better when you play some wraths. He gets absurd when he also survives those wraths. Play 4 of him and find room for at least 3 Anger of the Gods maindeck and you will not be disappointed.

Yeah only DRS and Ooze happened since BBE was banned. Rolleyes
That is for BG in general and for Jund it includes Chandra now I guess.

And the fact that most of the pros play jund is of course because it is the best deck in their opinion and gives them the best chance to win. Do you think they go to the GP for any other reason than placing in the top 8?

Bloodbraid was banned after DRS was printed.
