Do you guys not realize that ramp does the same exact thing as ld it just feels nicer to the guy getting skrewed? Valukut going turn four titan is the same as valukut going turn 6 titan but stone raining your land twice. You're still in the same position where they are pumping out 6/6s and casting insane spells and your playing your little durdle play. To me ramp is 100% less fun then land destruction.

The real reason no one will use shoal right now is people aren't even using their fourth force of will. Even if people started to need force 5-8 there are better options in misdirection and counter top.

Thunderous Wrath - 4RR, Instant, Thunderous Wrath deals 5 damage to target creature or player. Miracle R (You may cast this card for its Miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn)

I would have to say vampires is better. Gatekeeper itself seems better then most things you can do with zombies the equivalent is the zombie sac guy from alara (can't remember name) but he isn't nearly as good. Bloodghast is also better then gravecrawler and the interaction with highborn gives reach. I don't really see any reason at all to play zombies.

I was at Indy and I can say it was a huge amount of the field apparently only stoneblade had more players. I also think that that statement is completely backwards people who don't play the format are more likely to play maverick I would say.

The only decent performance of it has been Todd Anderson at scg opens. In addition to his 17th place at pro tour Honolulu.

I believe worldgorger is mostly banned due to time constraints, the combo forces draws quite often.

  • posted a message on What do you think are going to be the biggest price jumpers post-DKA?
I say buy a box or whatever even if nothing jumps out at you. The simple fact that Avacyn(sp) Reborn is going to be drafted alone will bring prices of cards up in DKA.

while i agree, i thought the core sets existed to provide these generic staples. block is obviously a different story, but the blocks become formulaic with so many "necessary reprints".

I think that this is really needed for draft so that non green decks can get some color fixing since there is a bigger multicolor push this set.

I think cutting coralhelm commander is a horrible idea. I'm speaking out of strictly legacy experience but he is probably your best creature. He is the only folk who can be big enough by himself to really provide a threat. He also has natural evasion with flying to get through in key times. Every other creature we have is only good with other creatures out and something that just doesn't happen. Again this is from my experience with the deck in legacy so it could be completely different here where there is so much more removal.

Why would you rather play this then thorn? They key to most Death and Taxes sideboard cards (and most of the hatebear decks) is that you can tutor for them. I get that this can stall the game and win it along with having awesome interactions in the deck but not being able to find it seems kind of bad. I still think it definitely deserves testing though. Maybe it could be fit in the main board, replacing what I'm not sure though.
