I have been saying forever that the thing that has kept me from touching MTGO was the fact that I refuse to spend so much money twice.
If I can even get ANYTHING on mtgo for buying physical packs I will then at least dabble in mtgo
Hmmm, interesting. I guess I just assumed it was against the rules because it is against the rules in sealed deck at Competitive REL to discuss your pool with anyone before submitting your deck.
Not to mention it would just be a bad idea since you might play the person you are discussing it with, or someone you are playing might overhear you.
That is the catch.
There are always people around, and you definitely tip your hand because they can hear you.
But the way I see it, if a person wants to focus on me and change the way that he would make his deck just because he hears what I am thinking about doing then he will not do well at all against other people and may not even play me.
The other thing about drafts chatter is knowing what to talk about and what not to talk about
In an LGS FNM scenario, which is REL, this is fine. You can ask people for advice and talk about your deck.
At a tournament, however, this would be against the rules.
No, as long as you are not swapping cards it would still not be against the rules in any way at all.
People can ask advice and get advice even while deck building, even in tourney situations.
If it is distracting other people, then you might get someone giving you a nudge or something.
Some people take this crap way too seriously.
It is a draft, have fun with it.
You are not at Worlds or something, you are probably at your LGC.
IF someone wants to give information, so be it.
Hahaha! I find everyone's views on the new Gideon hularious. He's the same as his previous card, just more powerful for a cheaper cost.
Look at his abilities. Both first abilities force your opponent to deal with him, but Champion of Justice will get more loyalty counters on him for more creatures opponent controls.
They both have the same 0 ability but Champion can be stronger than his previous card.
Both negative abilities are removal abilities, just that Champion cost's a bit extra and wins the game.
Finally, he's completely playable. You just use him as a second life source. Opponent can only handle him or you every turn. Not both.
All in all, he's a powerful card.

The previous Gideon could lock a game down completely.
He could completely throw off an opponents aggressive strategy by forcing their attacks or he could be brutal if you were playing control and wiped the board and then let him work.
This Gideon is NOTHING like that Gideon.
Have watched the rise and life of this card, gone through a few and now find myself thinking that I need to pick up some again.
My question is, where is it after M13 rotates? Does it have a life in modern and legacy that will carry on?
I see it in some lists, but am curious on thoughts out there?
I have been working with this since the Gatecrash spoilers, the one hurdle that I have found is that there is no endgame.
There is much mana, but nothing to really sink it into.
So I have looked to closers like Craterhoof Behemoth.
Also (imo) that is far too many Tamiyo if you are going to use her.
Another main issue with this combination is that it is very squishy to board wipes.
I am thinking of cutting down a few 4 ofs to get some Thraggies in there too.
Judging a set based on 5 unconfirmed cards, and the name of a promo.
lol wut
This is Mtg Salvation.
Everything is meh.
At least until some name says that a card is good, then everyone always knew it was good card all of the sudden.
That card would be disgusting with Geralf's Messenger or Thragtusk or Restoration Angel or Snapcaster or planeswalkers or hell knows how many other things.
The color issue can be an issue.

Nice to see the lovely cliche' "meh" reactions rolling in early.
