Quote from SushiOtterBack to Basics is already a card. Just notifying you. What it does is even similar to what yours does.
Obelisk of the Basic 8
Activated abilities of ~ can only be paid with mana produced by basic lands. X in these activated abilities is equal to the amount of basic lands you control.
W,t: Put X 1/1 Soldier creature tokens onto the battlefield.
U,t: Draw X cards, then discard cards equal to the number of nonbasic lands you control.
B,t: Put X target creature cards from your graveyard into your hand.
R,t: ~ deals X damage to target creature or player.
G,t: X target creatures each get +X/+X until end of turn.
Wordy I know, but it seems kinda cool.
Quote from RudyardFolks like Descartes who think they can be sure of their own minds when sure of nothing else make me chuckle.
I'm unsure of the flavor here, I'll admit. Otherwise, the card functions smartly but would be frustrating to play against and not much more fun to play.
I was hoping for more interesting mindf'ing designs for this challenge. If any of these conveyed flavor strongly and accurately enough I'd've probably given its designer the win. None of these quite thrill me mechanically either.
