Newest version of my favorite EDH deck of forever time, Mayael the Anima.
They way I love playing her is going straightforward and dropping the biggest dudes on the board via her ability and various other means. Why? Because that way's the most fun.
However, the criteria for a fatty for this deck is not merely being huge, the fatty must also qualify in one or more of the additional following ways as well:
A -Must have a form of evasion e.g. flying, trample, protection from X etc
B -Must have a good effect that supports the team or me or when it comes in to play
C -Must have a game changing/winning ability of some form or other or way to alter an opponents board state
D -Be huge and have some form of utility effect and/or affect my board in a positive manner
looking up cards on gatherer for a fatty Jhoira deck and I can't recall the names of the cards that add/remove time counters from suspended cards if anyone knows the names of the good ones can you please tell me, thanks.
I will utilize her in some form of U/G deck that sees her getting to -8 as fast as possible and playing Fog over and over again, I swear I will make it work.
And then I will get punched in the face by my opponent for it.
I kinda understand what you are trying to to (not be hated) but this is edh and you can draw hate for the stupidest of reasons so I really don't think it's worth it to gimp yourself this much. I couldn't imagine not running things like Executioner's Capsule in my Glissa deck.
Anyway, overall 1 for 1 removal like Gopher the Throat while still useable are less worth it overall unless it's stuff like Plowshares or Path. one thing you should drop is single creature Edict effects like Geth's Verdict, absolutely can be useless at leas 90% of the time since most people have a used utility guy or a token they can sac to it.
I like Tamiyo and because of her abilities I hope that she isn't an auto $40 card to collect. for standard her usefulness is limited unfortunately as long as the formats main beaters continue to be things like Geist of Saint Traft and friends.
I think that the reason we won't see ABU duals again isn't because of the reserved list and collectors. If Wizards REALLY wanted to they could print the exact same card but with a different name e.g. Savannah becomes "Emerald Meadow" or something similarly generic and fantasy sounding. I think the real issue is their power level. In any standard or modern format ABU or ABU style duals were legal why would you want to ever use any other dual? Even shocks would probably be passed over.
In eternal have jace and brainstorm to put it back in your deck, force to pitch it to, chrome mox to put it on.
The only problem it has in eternal is that you usually wont be able to cast it when you want it to(which may be a very big problem for control decks).
As for standard the only problem I see for it at the moment is that delver can't really do anything with it if they get stuck with it in their hand.
Faithless looting and noxious revival are both cards pal.
Does anybody else REALLY like that Demonic taskmaster in a G/B undying deck like i do? a 4/3 flyer with and easy mana cost for three and there is enough cheap and good undying guys so sacing to him isn't a big deal, plus 2 or more of him out isn't a big deal since you can't sac him to his ability and there's nothing bad like tapping him or life loss if you don't.
The deck could have 3-4 of taskmaster, 4 strangleroots, 4 young wolf, maybe some vorapede to fill in for bigger guys.
I think that between Ponder, Noxious Revival, faithless looting , miracle time walk, and the 5 damage red miracle there could be a deck out there that would do well at least %85 of the time.
...also part of me REALLY wants to play Chandra, the Firebrand in there just to say I copied a Miracle.

thanks, I actually made the search terms work on gatherer finally so I found what I was looking for. Timebug and Time bender are both good.
And then I will get punched in the face by my opponent for it.
Anyway, ctrl+F and I was astounded to find no mention of Seedborn Muse activate Mayael EVERY turn? I could not imagine not using it in my Mayael.
Faithless looting and noxious revival are both cards pal.
