Ok, here is an attempt at a new version of this deck:

    4 Living End
    4 Temur Ascendancy
    4 Violent Outburst
    2 Demonic Dread
    2 Decimate
    2 Maelstrom Pulse
    2 Leyline of the Void
    2 Living Death
    4 Monstrous Carabid
    4 Igneous Pouncer
    4 Valley Rannet
    4 Jungle Weaver
    4 Krosan Tusker
    2 Scion of Darkness

    2 Izzet Boilerworks
    2 Gruul Turf
    2 Island
    4 Bojuka Bog
    3 Forest
    2 Mountain
    1 Swamp

I think that having a Temur Ascendancy in play when the Living End or Living Death hits will help me a lot...it will both refill my hand and give haste to all my creatures. Of course, it will be a bit hard to get my mana color but all the cycling cards will surely help and I will adjust my lands as I go.

I couldnt include Grave Pact because the 3 black mana that it would cost to play would simply be too hard to reach.

I removed the Shriekmaw because they tend to kill my own creatures when I'm the only one with creatures in play after a Living End

I removed the Deadshot Minotaur because their 3 power doesnt fit well with Temur Ascendancy.

I was interested in playing Bloodbraid Elf but it has a power lower than 4 and I wouldnt be garanteed to cascade into a Living End so I dropped the idea

Ancestral Vision was interesting as well but I want to be certain of cascading into a Living End when I need one (For example, last friday, someone was exiling my graveyard and, in response, I played Violent Outburst which cascaded into Living End...in a situation like that, I would hate to cascade into an Ancestral Vision).

Mulldrifter was another interesting card but I think I will rely only on Temur Ascendancy for card drawing...the Evoke cost on this is a bit high anyway..I have better things to do with my mana.

Feel free to add your comments/suggestions, I am always looking for new ideas.

I don't think you understand how the deck works at all. First you tell him to play a 2 drop in his deck that NEEDS to Cascade into Living End just to play Magic. Then you tell him to play a Haste enabler that Living Ends will kill when it resolves making it ostensibly useless (for the record, Anger is basically the only creature that even potentially makes sense to run). Then you tell him to play an 8 drop in his 16 land deck (which is even in a completely different color). He'd have to draw half of the lands in his deck to play it. HALF!

I have to agree...Goblin Bombardment would seriously mess up my combo. I would have considered Altar of Dementia over the Bombardment since it's effect is more deadly in my games but it has the same probleme: it costs less than 3 mana and I simply cannot play it.

Creatures that I cannot cycle or at least send to the graveyard easily (Evoke) dont fit very well in this deck. I draw so many cards that I am bound to reach a cascade card pretty quickly allowing me to cascade into Living End easily...so I want to focus on cards that interract well with this combo. If I have to hardcast a Maelstrom Wanderer, assuming I have access to blue mana, it will take me forever to reach the 8 manas to play it.

    Still, thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for all the comments, it's always really appreciated to get some feedback.

    1) Just suspend Living Ends that you draw. Adding "Brainstorms" to shuffle them back in will dilute your combo and drastically reduce your deck's consistency at no significant benefit. That is, the ability to shuffle LEs back into your deck will not significantly increase your win% but drawing "useless do-nothings" will certainly cause you to lose games.

I've played them suspended before but people see it coming and can prepare for the effect...also, my creatures cant attack on the turn that they come into play so it is much weaker. I'll do it if i have no other choice, but im looking for better options.

    2) Living Death is a powerful card that fits the theme of the deck :>.

I agree, I think I will add 2 to the deck.

    3) Leyline of the Void is your only powerful option. Faerie Macabre is "reasonable."

Yes, the leyline is the best option i could find...I think I'll play 2 of them...4 seems too much. If I dont draw any, I can always rely on my Bojuka Bogs

    4) Protecting your graveyard isn't viable. If people are maindecking dedicated graveyard hate then you're playing the wrong deck.

Yeah, I know this isnt easy and it's unlikely that I will find anything effective for this...I'm just consedering every possible option out there...sometimes I'm surprised by what I can find.

You might want Haste in a deck like this.
Also I'd run some sacrifice effects.

I'm thinking about Grave Pact...the sacrifice effect actually resolves after the living end so if my opponents actually have creatures after the living end, this would get rid of them....assuming I had creatures in play before the Living End (it happens sometimes. Yesterday, someone did Curse of the Swine on 3 of my creatures so i had 3 Boars into play with the Living End hit).

Haste is also interesting but I cannot find that many Haste creatures that I can cycle. There is Igneous Pouncer and Macetail Hystrodon annnnd that's about it...

I think I should add blue to the deck and run 4 Temur Ascendancy...that would both allow to give haste to all my creatures and make me draw a lot of cards every time I do a Living End. I'm just a bit scared of the issue of running a 4-color deck based mostly on basic lands. I do have a lot of landcyclings available to help me though.

Lands like Gruul Turf (aside from being plain awesome) allow you to pick your Bojuka Bog back up and play it again next turn.

Great Idea...I play tons of theses "bounce" lands in my other decks but I didnt think of it as a way to replay my Bojuka Bog. I think I will add 4-6 of them.

    I would play Street Wraith.

The Wraith would be real good if I was playing duels...but most of theses games will be with 4-7 players (usually in teams) so games tend to be a bit long...and the Wraith seems like a strong choice for fast games but a bit weaker for long games...since i end up losing life and gaining only a 3 attack creature.

I also just realized that your manabase is 15 "basic lands" (and it's actually worse than that since 4 of them ETBT). That's uhhh... I want to say "ambitious" but that would be insult to the people trying to live the dream with turn 1 Mountain -> Rite of Flame -> Rite of Flame -> Seething Song -> Tarox Bladewing discarding 3x Tarox Bladewing. I would be amazed to learn that this deck actually plays Magic, and yes, I do realize that it has land cyclers.

It's actually running 16 lands (I must have missed one when I did the listing, a Mountain probably) and I am totally overflowing with mana...I dont remember ever having a mana problem with this deck and I'm thinking about reducing the number of lands. Even if my starting hand has only 1 land, Im bound to have several cards that I can cycle for 1 mana and I end up dropping 1 land per turn pretty steadily. Of course, I sometimes have to cycle during my turn in hope the draw a land but my landcyclings start to kick in on turn 2 and provide me tons of mana. The drawback, however, is that my hand thins out and I lack card drawing cards.

Thanks for all the infos so far, be sure to let me know if you think of anything else.

I have a deck based on Living End but it lacks a few things. Here is the deck list:

    4 Jungle Weaver
    4 Deadshot Minotaur
    4 Valley Rannet
    4 Monstrous Carabid
    4 Igneous Pouncer
    4 Krosan Tusker
    2 Scion of Darkness
    2 Shriekmaw
    4 Living End
    4 Violent Outburst
    4 Demonic Dread
    2 Decimate
    2 Maelstrom Pulse
    4 Bojuka Bog
    1 Swamp
    5 Mountain
    5 Forest

Ok...this deck will usually be played in 4-7 player games so I am not trying to win fast with it but i want to have a deck that can stay strong both in the early game and in the late game. We *kinda* play the "Vintage" format.

The deck's great strength lies in the Violent Outburst + Living End combo, which allows me to both clear the board at instant speed and bring my graveyard back into play. This is important because there are a lot of Wrath of god-like cards that are played in my playgroup and playing the Living End at Instant speed is the main strength of this deck.

So, here is a list of what I would like to improve in this deck. Of course, all cards additions would need to cost 3 mana or more so it doesnt interfere with my Living End combo:

    1) When I draw Living End, it's one less Living End in my deck to cascade into...I am looking for a way to shuffle the Living End from my hand and/or graveyard back in my deck. I thought about Scroll Rack to get rid of the ones in my hand but that thing costs less than 3 so it wouldnt work.

    2) I think I will remove some landcycling creature cards because I tend to run out of cards in my hand and have too many lands in play that I dont use. I am looking for creatures that will fit better with the mechanics of this deck.

    3) I need something that will allow me to exile creatures in my opponent's graveyards. Bojuka Bog does a great job so far but, with 2-4 opponents, I cant keep up with the creatures in the graveyards and I would like to have a nice way to exile creatures in my opponent's graveyards. I thought about Leyline of the Void but I am still exploring options about this.

    4) I need something to protect my graveyard...to prevent my opponents from exiling creature cards in my graveyard. At first, I wanted to play some Ground Seal which would allow for *some* graveyard protection but then I remembered that it costs less than 3.

I will keep looking for cards ideas but I am posting here to ask for your imput as well.

Thanks for your help and have a nice day !

Hi, for card classification purposes, I would like to make a list of the cards that have 2 different printings with different rarities.

Example: Congregate is common in Urza's Saga but uncommon in Magic 2014.

Do you know if there is a search engine out there who would be able to list all theses cards ? ....a list of cards that are both common and uncommon and a list of cards that are both uncommon and rares.

    That would help me greatly.

    Thanks,

I have a deck that works and is among thoses lines. However, its more expensive than the one you are trying to build.

    1 Mana Vault
    1 Sol Ring
    1 Fastbond
    1 Eye of Ugin
    1 Maze of Ith
    1 Karn Liberated
    1 All is dust
    1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
    2 Artisan of Kozilek
    2 Ulamog, The infinite Gyre
    2 Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
    2 Steely Resolve
    2 Mind's Eye
    2 Staff of Domination
    2 Tower of Fortunes
    2 Duplicant
    4 Thran Dynamo
    4 Phyrexian Metamorph
    4 Primeval Titan
    4 Amulet of Vigor
    4 Cloudpost
    4 Glimmerpost
    4 Vesuva
    4 Simic Growth Chamber
    4 Gruul Turf

Having 2 Amulet of Vigor in play speeds up things a lot and when you reach 4 mana you can cast Thran Dynamo and copy it with Phyrexian Metamorph to jump straight from 4 mana to 10 mana. I know some of the cards are too expensive for the deck you have in mind but some of them are actually pretty cheap. I put a lot of different stuff in there to give me as many options as possible.

Yeah, I have 26 decks ;P ...this one would be number 27...I have 10 Primeval Titans i think...im running a playset in an Eldrazi deck...another playset in a red/white/green deck, one in a white/green highlander deck and another one in a mono-green deck...and i need another for that deck. That's about it.

There is interesting stuff in there...Genesis as a way to bring back my creatures...and the idea of dropping blue entirely (its true that i dont play many blue cards).

However, there is no control of any kind in there...and its hard to deal with 4 or 5 opponents without any control cards a Wee Dragonauts and a pile of instants could take me out pretty quickly, or a Meekstone could lock me out of the game. I try to play a little bit of control in every deck, because 5 opponents can throw so much stuff at you that getting rid of the worst of it is pretty essential if you want to survive.

Anyway, thanks for your help...I'll think about this !

Hi, I am trying to build a new multiplayer deck but I am running out of inspiration to finish it.

This will be used in multiplayer games (usually 4 to 6 players) where there are little counterspells or destroy lands but there are a lot of creature removal...wrath of god-like effects so creatures with a good come into play or leave play ability are interesting. I also need a minimum amount of control cards to get rid of stuff that could completely break my game.

Here is what I have so far:

    (28 cards)

The idea is to get a lot of lands fast and to use the skullclamps on the small creatures in the process to draw cards as well (sakura-tribe elder doesnt allow you to both draw and get a land into play but the others are doing good).

As for the rest of the cards...I thought about adding a 3rd color (which will be easy to get with all the creatures that can get me lands) but I was hesitating between black and white. Here are my ideas:

    Black:

I need cards that will allow me to win the game and that will resist Wrath of God-like effects.

Let me know how you would build this deck and why.

    Thanks for your help,

Yeah, I know that there is always a loser somewhere when there is a winner somewhere else. But its nice to be on the winning side every now and then and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who would be happy to find a deal like that.

If it's any comfort to you, the guy was quite happy to sell some of his cards and i had my share of deals where i was on the losing side myself...back when Force of Wills were 4$ and Dual lands were 20$.

    Hi,

I had a lucky one this weekend. I went to the local flea market with my girlfriend and my parents and i was looking at stuff i could use for the new house. When I go to that kind of place, I always look for Magic cards, in case someone would be selling cards and wouldnt know what they are worth.

I passed by a stand where they were selling hockey cards, stamps, money collections and magic cards but that guy knew what he was selling, and he was overpricing his stuff...so i kept going.

I found another stand that was similar...hockey cards, stamps, money and magic cards. At first, the guy only seemed to have a bunch of old common/uncommon cards in binders, which he was overpricing...but i saw a piece of paper where he wrote some bigger cards. "Scrubland 40$"...I'm like...ok...its a sucky dual land anyway, it's probably a decent price (actually i was wrong, it's worth 65$)...but next was "Tundra 40$" and "Underground Sea 45$"...I'm like "Oh god ! ...this is WAY underpriced" ! ...at first I thought it was some kind of buy list...but i asked if i could see the cards. The Tundra was near mint but the underground sea was quite damaged...played condition. I got them for 60$ for both and I also got a Thoughtseize for 12$ !

So it's about 235$ of cards for 72$...not bad...not bad at all ! I think i will sell the Underground Sea to a local card shop, they should give me 80-100$ for it and I might keep the Tundra...I have a merfolk deck with Sejiri Merfolk that could benefit from it.

I should have purchased the Scrubland as well...he would have sold it to me at 30-35$, im sure ! ...I'll probably go back next week just to go through his stuff again and see if I missed anything. That was quite a stroke of luck !

    Hi,

I had problems adding Mirrodin Besieged to the MasterBase in Magic Workstation so I decided to unninstall it and install it again. However, I forgot to move my deck files somewhere else...so I believe that they got deleted when I unninstalled Magic Workstation.

Now, I was able to re-install everything, including Mirrodin Besieged and I expected to have to re-enter all my 25 decks but I was very surprised when I found out that I can still open any of my deck in the MWS Online Play program...as if the decks were also saved somewhere else. I cannot open them with MWS to edit them however, the deck files are not there anymore.

Is there a way for me to "extract" the deck files from MWS Online Play so I have my deck files again ?

    Thanks for your help !
