Hey guys. I was talking a while ago to the people on the cube forum about having a regular thread about what updates people were doing to their commander cubes and they suggested that it might fit better over here and since commander legends spoiler season is upon is, I thought it was a good time to try it out. So, 2 things:
1. What are you guys with cubes thinking of the new cards? Are there any swaps you're looking to make?
2. Is this a thread that commander cube enthusiasts would be interested in seeing during previews for new sets?
Feel free to share your thoughts about new sets here.
I appreciate the thought but a giant thread like that isn't what im looking for. Its too much for me to process. Other might find it useful but I think I'll pass.
It looks like what im hearing is no, there isn't enough interest in this sort of thing. Bummer, but I understand. Thanks for the responses.
hey guys. So, I dont know if im out of line asking this but we talk a lot about powered, legacy, peasant and pauper cubes here and it works really well but I know a few of us here have commander cubes and the conversation for that doesnt work as well intertwined with those other formats. So, would anyone be interested in me starting one commander cube thread per release where we can discuss that separate from everything else? I know we don't want to clutter this section up too much but I think there might be value in this.
Thank you so much for your reply! I 100% agree that I need to adjust the X spells to more approriate mana costs. I did that in cubetutor but I just put the cube cobra list together and haven't done all of the formatting for it. But it's on the list:)
I thought I was running a good amount of mana rocks! You really think I should be running more?
I'm surprised that you think 2 should have more of a presence than threes! I thought there should be a few more threes. Not arguing, I asked for advise and you're giving it and I appreciate it. I'm just surprised. I would have thought you would want a couple more threes than twos.
I'm hoping to get another response or two but I will definitely consider your suggestions and see about trimming a few threes for two and maybe see if I can find room for a few more mana rocks!
I just entered it into xmage and 3s were by far the greatest number in the cube. But that didn't seem too bad to me. 3 is such a critical mana cost that having an excess of 3 drops didn't seem too ridiculous.
But tonight we was helping one of our group do a draft, talking her through her picks as we made our own, and a comment was made that there seemed to be a lot of 3 drops so now I'm feeling paranoid about it I guess. So, do I run too many three drops? I know it's a difficult question to answer since each color is doing different things so you can't say that each color should have exactly X 1 drops, X 2 drops, etc.
If anyone could take a look, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
I don't think I want a one drop with one power on my aggro deck unless the upside is either higher than this or easier to pull off without investing mana when i want to be developing my board.
Now, the upside on this guy is great when you get it but sinking 3 mana I to this is probably not something that I want to be doing very often.
Definite include. My only concern is that I don't run green aggro but some of my drafters don't get that and try to force it anyway? So I worry that this card will end up being a bit of a trap.
I'm just curious, what's make your drafters to be incline to force green agressive decks at the moment if you don't have the support for it?
If I'm being honest, some drafters just not quite understanding the environment. I have said that green aggro isn't a thing in my cube but it just hasn't quite sunk in.
That really sucks. I will be sorry to see mtgs go.
To those of you from mtgs forming a new site, I know this may seem trivial but I can't tell you how critical the "new cards discussion" section of the forum has been to the maintenance of my cube. I'm certain that others feel the same way. If I'm not way out of line, please include something like that on the new site. It would be a real shame to lose that platform for discussing new cards in such a focused, uninterrupted way.
I think this probably makes my commander cube but probably falls just a little short in my powered cube. It's too bad too since this card is pretty sweet.
I agree with wtwlf on putting this in the selesnya section but I don't think I have a good cut for it. Yes, I could cut voice but voice is an interesting card that helps combat blue decks. It's not a house or anything but it's solid and does work. I don't know that I want to cut that for a basic piece of removal that either color can already do on their own.
