The Leyline reprint will be huge. Infuriate's flavour text is cute and the card is pretty awesome, a near-Giant Growth of sorts.

Buy your Beacons of Immortality now while they're cheap. Run Beacon and Bolas's Citadel and this and you have a cool board position to be in.

There's a clear {mini{ Elemental theme in this set it appears. That can get ugly fast with all the burn available. Make it big then Thud and let the giggles fly.

Chandra's Regulator is listed twice. EDIT: Nevermind it's got alternate artwork. Derp.

Is it just me or should they use the promo frame on a regular basis? The rich colour just trumps everything else.

That's actually really good especially for an uncommon. It'll be better in decks with a mid- to late-game strategy more than those aggro decks that run out early.

I guess they're doing that to ensure that cards being previewed are legit rather than the perennial fakes that tend to drift around this time.

5C Slivers isn’t out of the question and would lower some prices. Also, Slivers are very attractive to players new to Commander and new players in general.

Squirrels aren’t unlikely. It’s one of the most beloved tribes of all of Magic fandom. The only reason it hasn’t been supported until very recently is because some alpha nerd at WotC thought Squirrels aren't serious enough for Standard sets.

Probably a Snow deck, which would be cool.

And a colorless deck possibly featuring Constructs and Modular.

I like the idea of a Sliver deck, but I think it has a lot of issues that hold it back. First and foremost is the old Sliver rule text that benefits all slivers on the board. To me, this is a huge problem, especially if they make them readily available in a PreCon. Imagine a bunch of players sitting down and 3/4 of them are playing Slivers. To me, it sounds like a complicated game from the start. As much as I would love to see it happen, I think it's a little far out.

The same goes for squirrels... Do they have enough support to be their own thing?

They probably wouldn’t use the Slivers with the old wording. There is not enough Squirrel support, but they could flesh it out with new stuff in the deck.

For commander, they can mix and match the old and new slivers without issue, they can also give us a legendary sliver that makes the old slivers function like the new ones (I.e. they only affect your slivers instead of all slivers). So slivers are not out of the question, at all.

They have not been shy about giving us throwback characters. WAR gave us a number of random, smaller walkers featured in various stories (and from smaller sets), and MH1 had lots of early characters. Last year we got Varchild, Xantcha, and Tawnos, so...I'm hoping for more relics alongside our new characters.

If they make Autumn Willow or her daughter a Planeswalker pre-con, I would buy it just for the giggles.

As neither of those were planeswalkers, doubtful. There are six planeswalkers associated with Ulgrotha, only two are natives. Feroz, Ravi, Serra, and Taysir are all from other planes, the only one of them whose home plane we know is Taysir who is from Rabiah. The two native planeswalkers are Sandruu and Daria. Sandruu has never been mentioned on cards and would be a lore deep dive (He's an Anaba Minotaur whom Taysir banished "for over a thousand years" after defeating him because they both competed for the love of the same woman). Ravi is also known as Grandmother Sengir.

Maybe Gerrard and Volrath. It was strange not to have them in MH (and instead we got sisay), considering how much maro want to redo them. Especially Gerrard.

I hope we get Ashnod soon, that'd be nice.

We've both said it before: Jherana Rure. But aside from that, I'd take Tormod too. Hell why not give us Ashnod and Tormod at the same time for *****s and giggles. And Daria. And Kristina of the Woods. I mean...if Feldon and Tawnos got a card...

There's always Grandmother Sengir getting a planeswalker card depicting her as Ravi prior to the shenanigans the Baron did to her.

To bad the guy is dead and we won't see a another core release base on him with 3 copies of him in one set with modern planeswalker abilities.

What card is that artwork for? That' seriously fricken awesome. Like a father protecting his grown daughter.

With regards to the Gatewatch--or certain members--being overexposed: The Gatewatch as a concept is fine. The Gatewatch storyline that just ended, was a bit much. In fact I like learning more about the characters individually as opposed to the saturated storyline we had but learning each PWs' unique histories is something I'm keen on exploring. The Jace-Vraska developmental arc was fantastic in Ixalan. That's how a storyline ought to unfold. Hopefully we'll get to see more of that moving forward post-War of the Spark Thumbs Up

All that focus on elemental-type cards makes me wonder if there'll be a lite elemental tribal theme to this set. Maybe we'll see Flamekin/Cinders in this set?

Acolyte of Flame's 0 ability is quite good. ALL red planeswalkers? Roight-o!

I think it's entirely feasible to have a planeswalker with a feral mindset who finds a way to trigger the spark and then has difficulty controlling where and when it planeswalks. That could be an interesting side story bit.

I could totally see something like Ilharg getting something like that: A wild, feral, ferocious boar who suddenly can traverse the multiverse but doesn't know how or when it can do it.

I'm too lazy to go back and read 5 pages of comments, 90% of which are probably senseless banter, but is there an indication of when this new site plans on being implemented, and perhaps a hint at the name? I've interacted with a lot of people here especially those who decided to migrate from mtgnews in the early stages. Would love to keep those contacts open again.
