    When I say the word cute, I mean in a sense where it looks like a card that doesn't belong in an aggro deck but yet here we are. I'm not the type to just judge a card and dismiss it without testing it myself. I was gold fishing hands as well, I did about 30 when I was on my break at work with your list. To be honest, the list seems stable, but I just don't think probes work as well as other cards. Hey If you guys wanna keep testing it, keep going and prove me wrong, but I just don't see probes making my 75 anyway

    So here's the thing i see with Gitaxian Probe. The reason they work so well in storm or twin(before banning) or delver, because they trigger towards spell counts, they offer a view of an opponent's hand so you don't overextend, and they help trigger delver as well as card draw which is needed in these decks to be dependable.

    In goblins, we have no use for spell counts, we don't need card draw (that much anyway), and it doesn't trigger anything besides taylor swift's. I rather just see mutagenic growth and an additional SSG in treach's list then to see those at all even. He could even do one more and add another Goblin Grenade, to be honest, I think they are very 'cute', but I would not include them in any of my goblin lists. They don't really help me win more, they may help you draw that answer, and it's pretty much a free spell, but idk I just think they need to be something else. Zacholistic had the right idea, I think 2 reckless per goblin deck is enough, I feel that anymore and you are flooding your hand with too much 3cmc cards.

    I think pyrite spellbomb is still better because it costs 1 mana less and has the card draw option which our deck lacks

    I've been testing pack rat for a while and found it to be a situational card, I usually end up removing them for better cards in the sideboard all the time. Nyxa's on the other hand, are always awesome to see. I know were all 50/50 with bobs but i'll give it a try. Hopefully mtgo prices aren't crazy for bobs.

    You run Defense Grid in non blue control decks such as RW Lockdown or mono white control, it's mostly to be used against decks with counterspells , and as rogomatic said, it doesn't do anything against sweeper effects.

    $1 dollar per ticket, it's hard to get into. If you are ready to drop like 150-200 bucks, you can make gobos, but goblin guide is ridiculous online right now.

    I would take out Raging Goblin and put in Vexing Devil, so far he has been excellent in my testing with a similar but Gruul version of your deck. I'm starting to realize Goblin Piledriver should be more of sideboard card all things considered. There are matches when he's amazing and matches where he just dies the turn I play him. Warren Weirding should be in the sideboard slot, there's really no need for that card mainboard, it's really only good against hexproof creatures. Dragonskull Summit should become Blackcleave Cliffs and Sulfurous Springs should become BloodStained Mire. Also consider removing at least 2x Mountain and add in Blood Crypt's if you can. Other than that everything looks solid.

    Junk is going rise up quickly. However I think Zoo is gonna start making a comeback. Tron/Affinity will be on top, that we all agree on. If that is the case, we can replace our sideboard rending volleys for possibly more creature control? Forked bolt is a great example of a card against Affinity early game. We can add more goblins to the sideboard to hose out certain decks.

    Also if there are more board wipes to become present in the format,should we consider the Boros Goblin approach and splash for Boros Charm?

    It's gonna be an interesting month.

    We had this discussion just a few pages ago. I've always liked the card, most people disagree with me. I do see the point that in the newer No Lord's Gobos of not including it because there is a lack of higher converted mana cost creatures. Even if something like Goblin Piledriver gets countered, it won't matter as much since we have so many low casting creatures, we could probably just cast something after. Also Cavern screws with the delicate mana base the newer version of goblins has. If you are building a mono red version of goblins, it's more viable in that.

    I run Dolmen Gate as a sideboard card against zoo and Junk after trying both that and Mark. Its easier to run, and you don't have to splash for it. I found that if the opponent is going to remove my creatures...well, might as well just let him. With the amount of low casting cost creatures paired with the lack of high cmc cards in No-Lord's Gobos there really isn't a point to trying to protect your creatures because next turn you can just play two more. That being said, against board wipes, Boros Charm is definately the better option due to its other abilities.

    Hey guys i've recently found some time in between work and searching for a house, and need some help. I'm looking for examples of Goblin lists. RG, RB, Jund, and possibly RW are examples i'm looking for to include in the primer. I'll be working on it for most of the day, so anyone who has some time and wants to post their list here in the primer that would be extremely helpful. Whichever list is the best i'll include in the primer under example decks for splashes, and as well just examples of decks in general. Remember I need Jund, Gruul, Rakdos, and Boros decks in particular.

    Whoa whoa whoa - in no way are caverns a 'must' - they CAN be included in certain builds, but Cavern doesn't tap for red or green (in Atarka builds). For a deck that can keep one land hands and occasionally win through them, that land cannot be a cavern.


    I have to disagree with this. Cavern's is a must in goblins somewhere in the 75. When you are encountering control decks which make up 23% of the format, and some combo decks which make up 31% of the format, you will see lots of counter spells. Remand, Spell snare, Cryptic, and Mana leak are usually the most common, and will seriously hinder your day if you are not careful when playing your spells. Do they need to be main deck? Depending on your meta, but usually not, in the 75 however? That is a must. You will not beat control mid to late game if you do not have caverns somewhere in there, and that match is hard enough as is.

    Now again you don't have to agree with me, but I have been playing goblins for a long time and found that without cavern's there is at least 15-20 match ups off the top of my head that if i did not have cavern's, I would have lost.

    goblin cohort is a good budget replacement to goblin guide. Not much else besides forking over the doe to get them.

    Cavern's are a must to have 1-2 is usually the correct number.
